Waking in the country lanes near our holiday Gite in La Jarne, the verges and waste land was full of beautiful wild flowers

Have a great weekend!

Low fog there on this cold summer morning in Canada.

Pharaoh Khufu began the first Giza pyramid project, circa 2550 B.C. His Great Pyramid is the largest in Giza and towers some 481 feet (147 meters) above the plateau. Its estimated 2.3 million stone blocks each weigh an average of 2.5 to 15 tons. I photographed the pyramids from different angles and perspectives, but this long shot is one of my favorites.

There are some small pyramids in the image but I just don't recall why I gave it that name. I must have had a reason. If you see me you might ask me about it.

These old volcanic cones from a volcano last active about 10 million years ago are on the Peninsula close to our city. My friend who is here from Seattle was using binoculars to have a closer look.

Sorry I have been away the last day or so.

FlickrFriday this week is pyramid! This one is part of the architecture at Bluewater shopping centre in Kent. As it was a boring rainy day with grey nondescript sky, I decided to add some effects to cheer it all up.

Thanks for viewing 😀

The Egyptian pyramids are ancient masonry structures located in Egypt. Most were built as tombs for the country's pharaohs and their consorts during the Old and Middle Kingdom periods.

The most famous Egyptian pyramids are those found at Giza, on the outskirts of Cairo. Several of the Giza pyramids are counted among the largest structures ever built. The Pyramid of Khufu is the largest Egyptian pyramid. It is the only one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World still in existence.*

The Pyramids of Giza - a previous shot of mine reprocessed in Black & White. I think I'll hang this one up.

Pyramid Lake was formed by the tears of Stone Mother, who had herself a tsunami-like cry after her husband "The Man" banished two of her children from the tribe for being class act brats. Her multi-day cry not only created the lake but eventually turned her to stone, thus her name "Stone Mother." Apparently, she's still sitting somewhere along the shore with her basket by her side. I saw none of that, but given my current state of mind, I think it's all quite plausible.
