Night Fall 4. This low-light picture was taken during the early evening in Richmond Hill, Ontario, Canada. Image was slightly edited in Adobe Elements 11, for Windows 8.1 on my Acer V3 laptop computer. It was shot in manual mode with a small aperture of f/11, shutter speed of 1/125 second, image sensor sensitivity set to 400 ISO, and a moderate wide angle of 24mm had been set. The place is a parking lot at a Wal-Mart store in Richmond Hill, Ontario.
Couldn't quite get the shot I wanted because I was balancing on some logs and there was a bush in the way too.
Out hunting Aurora, and a replacement for my favourite wee tree. I didn't get the Aurora, but I think this pylon and trees will work given the right conditions. By happy coincidence, a passing car lit up the pylon and the trees around it. Another Silver Efex black n white conversion.
The side of an electricity pylon looking up into the sky. The blue hue has been slid right up to turn the sky purple, just to make the image a little more striking (in my opinion).
Todmorden, West Yorkshire.
The South Pennine hills are a beautiful place to roam with a camera but being between the conurbations of Greater Manchester and West Yorkshire it inevitably displays evidence of modern life. Like giants striding across the hills, these pylons are a feature of the landscape that are hard to escape from.
There was another good sky over the common yesterday so I stopped off to take a few pylon silhouette shots.
