ST24 Melbourne-Sydney XPT, rounding curves near Jerrawa (between Yass and Gunning) on the NSW main south, late afternoon.
I planned to post only two of these, but liked the way they tell the story of a fleeting moment (well, 52 seconds) of the train's life. And I like the light! : ) I might delete some of them.
This is an Athearn HO scale model of a Bombardier Coach Car lettered for GO Transit commerative Thirty Years 1967 - 1997 #2307. This car has metal wheels and knuckle couplers. The under carriage and trucks are painted a grimy black and the car is lightly weathered.
Big surprise, today's NPCU was AMTK 90221, the "Honoring the Veterans" unit. Unfortunately by time it cleared the shadows it was too far away for a good shot.

Another couple of pics of the Push-Pull railtour from the same location. Class 47 47712 Lady Diana Spencer is leading with "D1395" on the rear on the last day of this 3 day tour. Having left Edinburgh in the morning it was heading for Gourock then Wemyss Bay, before heading to Ayrshire (Ardrossan Harbour and Largs) and then home to England.
P18 leads the final push pull set to run to Sunbury into the station, Friday 16/11/2012. Metro commenced running services to the station the following Monday.
Commuter-routes around Warsaw feature several pushpull rakes of stock, with a fleet of PESA Gama 111Eb and Traxx EU47 locomotives.

2009/09/28.RD4006. On days when traffic is light, the Llangollen Railway does what the Great Western and other railways did before it. It uses Auto-trains, where there is a driving cab at the outer end of the coach; this makes running round at each end of the journey unnecessary. Trains could be run with a locomotive and up to four coaches, but, as no more than two coaches could be propelled, a locomotive could have two coaches either side.
With a Great Western auto-trailer fore and aft, 0-6-0PT 6430 has arrived back at Llangollen with the 11:50 am train from Carrog.
