Alarm Chronograph Collection. Comfortable black anodized stainless steel case and bracelet. Black Dial with silver tone hands and markers. Luminous hands and markers. Unidirectional rotating bezel. 60 Minute Chronograph in 15 second increments. Alarm. Alarm hands can indicate the time in a different time zone. Date display. Foldover pushbutton deployment clasp. Precise Quartz movement. Scratch resistant Hardlex crystal. Water resistant to 100m. Case measures 42mm diameter by 12mm thick.

The setup for the previous photos. A little crude, but the angel eyes 90mm fits nicely in the HB-38 and the 9V battery is gaffered on top. I'm trying to make it a little nicer now with a pushbutton on/off switch.

In the early 1960s, Jeep, under Kaiser-Willys management, felt it was time to offer a larger, more comfortable vehicle than the aging Willys station wagon. Competition was closing in on the company and something had to be done. The Wagoneer was introduced for 1963 using the Gladiator Pickup platform. It offered customers the opportunity to haul the family and utensils in comfort, easily tow a load and go off-road when needed. Designed by Brooks Stevens, who had penned a number of products for Willys and Kaiser, the Wagoneer proved popular among Jeep enthusiasts and people simply looking for a large vehicle for their purposes.

Knowing the Wagoneer was commanding fair market share, Jeep produced the Super Wagoneer in 1966. It was equipped more luxuriously than anything like it on the market with accessories like a pushbutton radio, interior ceiling lights, air conditioning, a seven-position steering wheel, power steering, power brakes, a power tailgate, bucket seats, a center console, automatic transmission and much more. It was a precursor to what would evolve into a luxury SUV, something very common today, but unheard of back then. In 1978, the Wagoneer Limited was introduced, which was hugely luxurious and technologically advanced, again, marking a precursor for what would become the Grand Wagoneer of 1984, one of the most popular and recognizable vehicles ever made.

This 1988 Grand Wagoneer has 55,000 original miles and was given a comprehensive restoration, including an extensive mechanical refreshing. Powered by the 360 CI V-8 engine and 727 automatic transmission, this Wagoneer features an aftermarket fuel injection system that has been uniquely designed to give the appearance of the original carbureted setup. Finished in custom Burgundy Pearl paint with proper simulated wood paneling, the interior is upholstered in tan with custom plaid seating surfaces that gently match the exterior paint. The dashboard is new and fitted with an aftermarket stereo system with hidden components. Drivers will love the back-up camera and factory air conditioning to help keep things cool.

my best Moon photo to date. Looks good this size. Taken well before sunset, so my dumb auto exposure would think it was "daylight" (by definition, this IS daylight) and then cropped and post-processed. I unsaturated to remove the sky blue, turned brightness and contrast down and raised the black level about 20%. A lot of processing, but well worth it. When I can force the exposure to be what I want I'm sure I can do nearly as well by just a bit of bracketing and shooting when the sky is actually black. So far, I'm too old to figure out pushbutton digital photograply without RTFM!

So easy to play, even a concrete bear can do it!

Future considerations:

1 - the octave switch takes the range too low, when activated the amount of playability is severly reduced. The lower the range the greater the change in voltage needed to change the pitch. So at high pitch the device is very sensitive to movement and at low pitches you have to make the movements much greater for the same effect. Maybe a swtch that only steps down half as much would be better - probably need to try different resistors.

2- If the second octave can be made more useful, maybe use a pushbutton switch to change octave on the fly. The tiny switch is too small to switch with while playing, but the kit creator didn't intend it to be anyways.

3 - Clockworkrobot (kit creator) has instructions for a line out and a "mute" button. Both of those would be nice options.

The instructions inclued the mute and line out ideas so when I put this together I kept the solar panel and switch offest to one side of the tin rather than centered to leave space for those options if I ever implement them.

Thanks Clockwork Robot!!!

Had a blast with my auto-enthusiast friend and neighbor, Fred, at Monterey Car Week 2021.

an excerpt from my MFA manuscript

I loved that kitchen, with its butterfly mural hand painted by my mother, its telephone with giant pushbutton numbers, and its one sickly plant rooting on the windowsill. Stacey said, “It seemed like it was always just trying to get started but never graduated to a real pot. I remember it being one of those furry round-ish-leaved ones like on the table between the thrones in the living room.”

Those living room “thrones” were tall-backed, green velvet chairs, which nearly swallowed us as children. Between them was a table carpeted with the purple-, blue-, and pink-blooming African violets that my grandmother rooted regularly on the sill. I took home dozens of my own, only to kill them with inattention or bad lighting or poisoned water. Upon her death eight years ago, I inherited all of her established plants, and now they are consistently plush with purple velvet blooms; my husband credits his care, but I think my grandmother’s persuasive spirit is coaxing them along.

These are all the electrical parts in the telephone (apart from the dial and handset). 2 switches (gravity switch and pushbutton), the induction coil, buzzer and one capacitor.

Industrial Ethernet master blocks are available with EtherNet/IP or PROFINET protocols. EtherNet/IP masters support daisy-chain connections with a built-in switch as well as support the Device Level Ring (DLR) topology for easier troubleshooting. PROFINET blocks support Fast Start UP (FSU) as well as the Link Layer Discovery Protocol (LLDP) for easy setup right out of the box. Both master devices have easy-to-use, lockable pushbutton displays for quick setup and provide webpages for configuration or diagnostics purposes.

Conway Yard is 23 miles northwest of Pittsburgh and, according to the Pennsylvania Railroad, was the "Largest Pushbutton Railyard in the U.S." Through the Conrail years and into the NS years, Conway had an eastbound and westbound hump yard. There is now only one hump but it is still a busy place.

After 9-11, things have changed considerably. The bridge over the east end of the yard is now off limits. Going anywhere near the yard now is discouraged. But there are still a few good photo opportunities available.
