On this particular day my morning started with a cup of tea and then I walked up to the roof of my ancestral home in the village to look around. As soon as I reached the roof I saw this beauty sitting on a Neem tree, beside the house and very close. It wasn't bothered by my presence. It stayed there for a while even when the workers came to work on the roof. A day couldn't start any better than this. This is a life bird for me. I ended up seeing four of them and could hear them vocalizing every evening during my stay. Village Purulia, India.

There are only two prominent structural ruins can be seen and the rest of the temples have almost lost their structural shape except the foundation.

I was looking for birds in the woodland area when I encountered this beautiful specimen of her kind. Despite my up-brining in India I have never seen one before let alone photograph. It was easily twice the size of a domestic cat. Because of that tufts of hair on top of its ears some call them Swamp Lynx. Unfortunately, like everything else in natural world, their population is in decline. Village Purulia, West Bengal, India.

A Savanna Nightjar (Caprimulgus affinis) was resting at its nesting ground with pin drop silence. It is impossible to a photographer to spot it under such camouflaged condition on the ground. It looks like a degraded piece of wood on the uneven soil. Pics was taken from Purulia outskirts in West Bengal, India.

India doesn't have Hummingbirds, but there are nine different types of Sunbirds that enjoy all the nectar. This time around I took my 300mm f2.8 attached to a 1.7x converter in a backpack all the way to India as part of my cabin luggage. That gave me a very good birding lens combo.
