ChoroQ Subaru Impreza STi 22B catching some major air. All pullback and no trick photography or photoshop!

Picture by Bruno - 1st try.

The Sunday after Darren's wedding back on July 24th, 2004, a bunch of us got together to watch what was to be the last Molson Indy Vancouver at Bruno's condo at Tinseltown. We all brought our Choro RC cars to play knockout on the coffee table and out came a 22B from someone's stash of tiny racers.

Soon after, someone had a brilliant idea of making it jump over our RC cars. Then, taking it up a notch, we proceeded to make a quick video featuring this little car, which we named it "Rally Getaway." I will post it if I can still find it on my computer.

Good times.. this was only a few years ago.. before everyone got married and had kids... -iDubs.

Mommy was due yesterday and so we were lucky to even make this shoot happen. This is baby number 5 and is due to be a home birth, which I will shoot - if I get there on time!

I shot a pullback image to show what was happening off camera for this one!

This model from WELLY is a pullback toy but the details are great and it looks to be in 1/43 scale.

Today I quickly made two little cars with pullback motors for the children.

They didn't really grasp the pullback mechanism but didn't really care for it either... they preferred taking them apart and especially Karel was quite good at that! Look here...

Vooral Karel was daar een kijk in, kijk even hier...

Quneitra was once a bustling town in the Golan Heights and southwestern Syria's administrative capital with a population of 37,000. The word Quneitra derives from Qantara, or 'bridge', between Syria, Lebanon, Jordan, and Palestine. Known for its abundant water resources, it has been continuously inhabited since the Stone Age. Over the millennia, many peoples, including Arameans, Assyrians, Caldeans, Persians, Greeks, and Arabs have occupied it. St. Paul, it is said, passed through Quneitra on his way from Damascus to Jerusalem.

In 1967, during the six-day war, Israel captured Quneitra. It then became a site of many battles but, except for a brief interlude, remained in Israeli hands until 1974, when a UN-brokered agreement led to an Israeli pullback. Before withdrawing, however, Quneitra was evacuated and systematically destroyed by the Israeli army (based on eyewitness accounts; UN General Assembly resolution 3240 in 1974 condemned Israel's role in its destruction. Israel disputes this account). Many prominent Western reporters, agreeing with the UN and Syrian version of events, saw this as nothing short of an act of wanton brutality — a whole town methodically ransacked, dynamited, and bulldozed.

I think it's a pullback toy from the 1980's that looks like a Toyota 4x4 in about 1/43 scale that I found while replacing the old floor on the old work shop that I'm rebuilding..

This is a diecast pullback toy car from Welly that I bought about 15 years ago I disassembled it shortly after buying it and painted the interior parts and removed the pullback gears but then I didn't like the paint quality so I removed the old paint from the cast parts but never got around to repaint them then but soon hopefully I will.

A nice and inexpensive pullback toy in about 1/43 scale.

Despite having a cheeky handful of Peugeot 206 models in my collection the majority of them are based on the three door WRC rather than the standard five door which most people probably remember. Welly took the initiative in producing one for their 1/60 line and predictably did a superb job for its budget price point and one they STILL produce in exactly the same shade of metallic light green I first bought back in the early 2010's!

This newly produced example was found unexpectedly in a small toy section of a large bookshop in Spain and has the added bonus of all round detailing and a pullback motor.

Mint and boxed.

Hopefully it's all clear there.

Well, here I am with 4 more entries! If I had posted them in seperate photos, they would have taken up a lot of space, but I would have got more praise in the roundup :D However I decided to do it two in one. these were quick builds, but fun.

Flam3d is a minigarage truck, powered by a pullback motor produced by lego a few years ago. It works pretty well and looks cool at the same time in my eyes. Sorry for use of stickers but I couldn't help it, it looked cool that way :) oh, and I know it has two spoilers, don't blame me for that, it also looked cool ;D the glow-in-the-darks look pretty cool here as well, in my opinion. Orange and white always was an awesome combination, huh?

This one's McGraw's, he likes heavy-duty stuff.

MRMV 4x4 is a Minigarage Road Maintenance Vehicle, with offset tires. that is what really makes it stand out I think, it makes it look more off-roady :] with bars on the front, heavy-duty tires (aka. three centimeter long piece of rubber) and a spare tire (on back pickup bed) and a menacing bulge in the hood that can only mean there's a turbocharger beneath, this little off-roader is ready to, well, off-road! :D This one is my favorite of the two as well.

It's Reggie Spader's, he likes yellow . . . . a lot!

Please comment :)

Pullback shot from the gun store, upstairs in the back. Laundry baskets, brooms, mops and pickle crocks are upstairs in the front. Flint bought cannon fuse. I don't want to know why.

Pull back view for the setup of my MacroMonday photo of a scrap of paper with writing on it. This week's theme on flickr's MacroMonday pool is 'lamp'

We can modify light to our advantage. If this was lit with the camera's on board flash, you wouldn't see this lightly dented writing. Using the latest technology with some decades older technology I can rake the light across the surface of a small piece of paper. The 10 LED light by Sima is an HD Video Light that runs on two AAA batteries and has a dimmer switch. The LED's will last longer than the pc board inside it. I'll give an estimate of battery duration after I use it more.

Dictionary.com: Noun1.lamp - an artificial source of visible illumination.

[Middle English lampe, from Old French, from Latin lampas, from Greek, from lampein, to shine.]

Italian: lampada, alt: chiaro, lume, illuminaire,

And if you got this far, it's pretty easy to bring the sections together.

Well in case anyone has been wondering why I haven't been posting any pics in nearly a month its because i've just returned from an amazing trip to Japan and Hong Kong. It was my first time i've ever visited the Far East, my planned 2020 tour was cancelled that year for obvious reasons....

Any one who has been to Japan will know it really is one of the most unique countries in the World where seemingly everyone is polite, respectful, proud of their customs and heritage yet are absolutely as modern as the hour and are collector crazy! That also includes diecast collecting where the choice available is staggering and with an extremely advantageous exchange rate also very cheap compared to the UK.

Obviously Tomica was high on my hit list but I did enjoy visiting stores which sell vending machine toys, another huge craze there though annoyingly I didn't come across too many dispensing toy cars. I did get fairly lucky at the Toyota Museum where I found this cute little 1/72 scale Toyota AE86.

Like all vending machine diecasts its constructed entirely of plastic but its accuracy and detailing are extremely credible for its low price point. Made by a company called SO-TA not only does it feature a pullback motor but flick a switch underneath and its front lights illuminate!

Mint and boxed, its box being a plastic egg shaped capsule.
