Quneitra was once a bustling town in the Golan Heights and southwestern Syria's administrative capital with a population of 37,000. The word Quneitra derives from Qantara, or 'bridge', between Syria, Lebanon, Jordan, and Palestine. Known for its abundant water resources, it has been continuously inhabited since the Stone Age. Over the millennia, many peoples, including Arameans, Assyrians, Caldeans, Persians, Greeks, and Arabs have occupied it. St. Paul, it is said, passed through Quneitra on his way from Damascus to Jerusalem.

In 1967, during the six-day war, Israel captured Quneitra. It then became a site of many battles but, except for a brief interlude, remained in Israeli hands until 1974, when a UN-brokered agreement led to an Israeli pullback. Before withdrawing, however, Quneitra was evacuated and systematically destroyed by the Israeli army (based on eyewitness accounts; UN General Assembly resolution 3240 in 1974 condemned Israel's role in its destruction. Israel disputes this account). Many prominent Western reporters, agreeing with the UN and Syrian version of events, saw this as nothing short of an act of wanton brutality — a whole town methodically ransacked, dynamited, and bulldozed.

I know, it's a bit dusty, it's actually part of a much larger MOC - it's part of the Hall of Justice interior, and just celebrated it's second birthday.

The main curtain fabric is a printed M'Liss brand cotton, the "Traveling with My Pets" series, bought two years ago from Hancock Fabrics. The "Crazy Dog Lady" sewing challenge finally gave me the gumption to finish them this weekend! The rod tabs and the pullbacks are in a star print cotton. You can see my son's giant stuffed dachshund on the window ledge...her name is Gertie. The M'Liss print is 3/4 dogs, 1/4 cat unfortunately, but they are all driving retro cars with license plates as their name tags. One dachsie has a driving scarf and goggles!

Oh boy.

Hi everyone! I recently build this BMW 3.0 CLS imaginary tuned for group B. Since I was a kid I always wanted to build a real car look alike, and NOW after almost 10 years of absence of Lego, I build this in some 2-3 weeks tweaked out like this.

It has functional steering mechanism and 2 mid pullback engines.

Details include: perfect fitted angled front sing, all 3 review mirrors, dashboard, seats, gear stick, handbrake, roll bar, MASSIVE side air vents, 3 round sing imitations, doorknobs, HUGE rear wing, small rear diffuser and 2 chrome exhaust.

This is actually product of me organizing and tidying up my Lego collection... which is in pieces he he as I always wanted to build something new :). Although, I have kept all my instructions safe and even after almost 10 years since I got my last model as a kid, I remember from which exact model are borrowed bricks. And this is the list : Red Dragster 5533 (red parts and few black), Star Wars Pod Race 7171(black parts and details), Hot Buster 8382, Zonic Strike 8357, Wlliams F1 1/27 8374 (black parts, engines&wheels), steering mechanism, handle wheel and other technic parts from big TECHNIC 8446 and 2 BIONICLE gears.

This is only version of a kinda real car I could build with my bricks. I could build it in classic, non tuned way, but my brick collection allows only this way and I kinda can not manage to have a Lego found here in Croatia :/ .

Came upon these that I took last summer when I was just starting to use a home made lightbox and wireless flash.

I saw that I never did anything with them. I did with some other vegetables but not my favorite snack.

Just kidding about the snack comment. I don't eat garlic raw.

How do I get so low? I put the box on a table.

One SB800 strobe on AS-19 stand in foamcore lightbox.

Bounced off right side and top. gobo on right to block, reflector on left for fill.

as of Aug 8 Target is 1.2457

Tipping point of EURUSD

Sell until 1.2300 then reverse position and Buy until 1.2525 then scale to 1.2690 up to 1.3000

Risk is tolerable and Logic of uptrend is highly probable

The strongest resistance was the 1.2144 were news remarks on Bernanke and Draghi coincidentally (strategically) released. Notice even positive news on US economy did not break the price level + unpredictable geopolitics or Eurozone kept everyone stuck to the bail out, refinancing, buyback of debts by ECB.

The move of Draghi and Bankers in Europe to delay and buy time is to make the Euro strong as anticipation seduces more returns when it happens.

Once the ECB initiates the programs, Euro shall pullback to the 1.3 - 1.24 price range. Rate cut and buy back of debts shall trigger people to sell euro and flight to usd jpy and aud.

In addition European banks, BNP, Goldman, etc... have long positions at 1.21 level.

Australia, Japan, US(China) must devalue to stabilize trade and allocation of wealth.

Be it business, speculation, or resource allocation

Micro Eco indicators only corrects the uptrend, minimal impact at most 200 points to swing spike then retraces to it's point of origin and crawls up. A swan dive of the pair happens during Asian Market opens (Japan Australia market), mainly companies buy dollars to purchase industrial machines in other countries for operation. New York London in summary both Capital Markets drive the pair upwards.

Average price of EURUSD shall float between 1.2500 and 1.3200 +-125 points

Otherwise job rate slows down or decreases and Export products of major countries shall be too expensive for Asians to consume.

Rate cuts, repurchase program of governments to buy back bonds only adds liquidity in the market. Wealth is only transferred from one account to another.

As of Now Aug 7, 2012 Tuesday @ 1.2395

Sell Side 1.2144 Target Risk 250 points

Buy Side 1.3000 Target Reward 855 points

FOR NOW UNTIL YEAR END 2012 Buy Euro!

He LOVES this car! Here he is on Christmas Eve just after opening it! You pull it back and it goes FAST! Even his big brother looks a little jealous ;)

Conrail #7594 and slug #1015 at the Robert Young Yard in Elkhart, Indiana in 1994. I had ridden with 'Red' back in the Penn Central days pulling the class tracks with one GP-7. He was running in notch 8 sanding all the way, while chomping on a cigar. He was cussing all the way saying the kids running that job needed two engines and were a bunch of pansies. (Those weren't his exact words! "Red" used words I'd never heard before!)

And that's it, your own Batmobile. Yay!

Russia promised to complete a partial pullback of troops from Georgia by the end of Friday but said an unspecified number of "peacekeeping forces" would stay inside the country, angering the West. Although the bulk of my weird and wonderful cheapo Chinese diecasts are sourced from either AliExpress or found in the many Chinese bazaars I visit whilst in Spain some do now come from Temu. They often come unpackaged or at least in sealed plastic bags making identification problematic as is the case with my latest purchases including this fairly elegant unlicensed Bentley Continental GT.

Whoever produced this substantial feeling model did at least bother to give it an interior, some painted detailing and rather intricate alloy effect wheels with soft tyres as well as the expected pullback function.

Mint and "boxed".

Thanks David.

Photo taken in April 2007 when I was just getting into strobing and strobalizing. One cheap (slow cycling) flash on stand with silver umbrella fired with sync cord (that didn't always work,) and one flash (with optical slave) more directly toward my face with telephoto zoom to snoot it.

Lunch, dinner, whatever. I cooked it, took some photos and ate it before it set too long.

I used one small piece of Top Round steak that I got for $1.72 and one white potato. Cooked them together with some olive oil and Canadian Steak Seasoning on a cast iron grill on my stove top.

strobist: sb800 -sandwiched- between a small 2mm (in front) and large 3mm white craft foam for main light. Hand held a second large 3mm craft foam for fill in front and below camera. Oh, I also set my White Balance for the exposure with my little tiny WB button on my Nikon D50. I didn't simply set it for 'flash'. Strobe was fired with wireless ebay trigger.

Kershaw Ken Onion 1550ST Tactical knife.

Made in USA

This item assisted me in receiving five sticthes on my right hand a few months ago. Right in the web of my thumb and forefinger.

Oh, Joy.

Not. My forgetfulness that it was meant for cutting.

I still carry it though. It is a great knife. Cuts rope pretty good too.
