Thanks for visiting.....

All of our hikes have included tons of muddy sections this fall. We just can't seem to get away from puddles. We try to go around them as often as possible but there are times I just step right into the shallow ones. Instead of being annoyed at the excess mud and water, I embraced it by looking for interesting abstracts. This one appealed to me because all the ripples in the puddle gave it a rich texture around the leaves while the blue sky was reflected beautifully.

Although this looks like a river, it is just a puddle. The empty spot where the reflection ends is a walkway. Then a blurry reflection continues in the actual river.

Intense sunrise reflected in a puddle

I was walking back to the car when I notice how the sunset reflecting in the puddles might make a good picture. And although I had put my camera stuff away and developed the early signs of frost bite (or at least that's how it felt) I stopped to take the shot.

This is the last one from the sunrise last sunday using the puddle to get some great reflections.

evening in the city after the rain

This was taken bak when we had warmer tiimes here in Alaska. I really liked how the still puddle perfectly reflected the sky above. This shot was taken along the Glenn Highway near Matanuska Glacier on the night of October 4, 2022
