For that purpose # the presence of radio station producer Ryo Osawa was necessary.
Osawa talks to Kaori during the live radio broadcast.

Main story
There are two reasons why a person faces the sea.
One # to enjoy a slice of shine in the sea like children bubbling over in the beach.
The other # to brush the dust of memory like an old man who misses old days # staring at the shine
quietly.
Those lead to only one meaning though they do not seem to overlap. It’s a rebirth.
I face myself to change tomorrow # a vague day into something certain.
That is the meaning of a rebirth.
I had a very sweet girlfriend when I was 18.
After she left # I knew the meaning of gentleness for the first time and also a true pain of loss. After
she left # how many times did I depend too much on her # doubt her # envy her and keep on telling lies
until I realized it is love?
I wonder whether a nobody like me could have given something to her who was struggling in the
daily life in those days. Giving something is arrogant conceit. It is nothing but self-satisfaction.
I had been thinking about such a thing.
However # I guess what she saw in me was because I had nothing. That‘s why she tried to see
something in me. Perhaps she found a slight possibility in me # a guy filled with ambiguous # unstable
tomorrow. But I wasted days depending too much on her gentleness.
Now I finally can convey how I felt in those days when we met.

あらすじ
大学を目指している北見ケイは、SNS上で、6歳年上のイベントコンパニオン、上村香織に出会う。
上京してきた香織の夢は、有名なアーティストの友達になるためだ。
そのためにはラジオ局のプロデューサー、大沢亮の存在が必要だった。
大沢は、ラジオの生放送中、香織へ語りかける。
「僕には妻子がある。しかし、僕は君に会いたいと思っている」
ケイの同級生で、彼を想っている三條里香は、香織の動向を探っていた。。。。。
本編
人が海へ向かう理由には、二つある。
ひとつは、波打ち際ではしゃぐ子供のように、今の瞬間の海の輝きを楽しむこと。
もうひとつは、その輝きを静かに見据えて、過ぎ去った日々を懐かしむ老人のように記憶の埃を払うこと。
二つは重なり合わないようではあるけれども、たったひとつの意味しか生まない。
再生だ。
明日っていう、曖昧な日を確実なものへと変えてゆくために、自分の存在に向き合う。
それが再生の意味だ。
十八歳だった僕には大切な人がいた。

It has been an excellent start to the 2016 chase Season. Bonus was, that I had the day off and no commitments except for storm chasing. I was set for an Epic Day!
I ended up with well over 700 pic from this storm chasing event, but I've skimmed it down to about 100+. Truly this will become some of my best severe weather photography to date...
I was seriously late the game on this storm. But I was never out of the game. I had now positioned myself just to the North of Wray Colorado.
Strategically, you want to be to the south east, southwest for the best light... It's all about timing, and I thought it wouldn't produce till it was well west of my location. Giving me that perfect view of the backside rotation of the storm.
In my opinion, I found a perfect view, looking due south southeast. I ended up on the northwest side of the rotation. Dangerous yes...but this will eventually give me one excellent view of this tornado and all her glory.

This brought me to a scene repeated throughout the deserts of the world: an old school bus left abandoned, spray-painted and gutted. I don’t know the story of this one. Maybe it was hippies who drove it down and couldn’t dig it out. Maybe it was a rancher who planted it there as a camp for his hands. This whole area was once a sheep ranch. Either is possible.
But here it sat, a school bus, stripped of everything, including the wheels and seats. The engine, coated in many layers of paint, stood open. The bus was a full-size late 1940s, early 1950s Dodge. Its windows were all broken out, and bullet holes pierced it on all sides. Generations of wasps had claimed it, so I didn’t enter, but poked my head inside. The drivers seat had been removed and was sitting next to where a fire ring might have been.

I tried an HDR (high dynamic range) photo once a year ago, but for some reason never pursued it. But it seems that more of and more of the "interesting" photos that I see on Flickr are HDR shots, so I decided to give it another try. The first of these HDR shots were taken from the rooftop of my apartment building at sunset, on the Sunday evening of 4th of July weekend. Subsequent shots (including this one) have been taken out on the street, from the terrace of my apartment at night, and walking through Central Park at mid-day...
This photo is one of a group of ten that I took in the "Sheep Meadow" area at the south end of Central Park. I knew that the trees, the grass, the buildings, and the sky/clouds would be stationary, and I figured that I could pick a time/scene where most, if not all, of the picnickers and sunbathers were reasonably stationary. But there were always a few people in motion, especially the young kids; and though the "ghosting" effect of their movement is sometimes interesting, I think I've concluded that it gets annoying after a while. But aside from that, it is possible to take these HDR sequences (which, in the case of these Sheep Meadow shots, involve the merging of 5 separate images into one composite) in a handheld fashion, without a tripod.
I still have a *lot* to learn about this stuff, but even as a first attempt I'm staggered by what the tonal-mapping software programs (Photomatix, in my case) are capable of doing...

Main story
There are two reasons why a person faces the sea.
One # to enjoy a slice of shine in the sea like children bubbling over in the beach.
The other # to brush the dust of memory like an old man who misses old days # staring at the shine
quietly.
Those lead to only one meaning though they do not seem to overlap. It’s a rebirth.
I face myself to change tomorrow # a vague day into something certain.
That is the meaning of a rebirth.
I had a very sweet girlfriend when I was 18.
After she left # I knew the meaning of gentleness for the first time and also a true pain of loss. After
she left # how many times did I depend too much on her # doubt her # envy her and keep on telling lies
until I realized it is love?
I wonder whether a nobody like me could have given something to her who was struggling in the
daily life in those days. Giving something is arrogant conceit. It is nothing but self-satisfaction.
I had been thinking about such a thing.
However # I guess what she saw in me was because I had nothing. That‘s why she tried to see
something in me. Perhaps she found a slight possibility in me # a guy filled with ambiguous # unstable
tomorrow. But I wasted days depending too much on her gentleness.

あらすじ
大学を目指している北見ケイは、SNS上で、6歳年上のイベントコンパニオン、上村香織に出会う。
上京してきた香織の夢は、有名なアーティストの友達になるためだ。
そのためにはラジオ局のプロデューサー、大沢亮の存在が必要だった。
大沢は、ラジオの生放送中、香織へ語りかける。
「僕には妻子がある。しかし、僕は君に会いたいと思っている」
ケイの同級生で、彼を想っている三條里香は、香織の動向を探っていた。。。。。
本編
人が海へ向かう理由には、二つある。
ひとつは、波打ち際ではしゃぐ子供のように、今の瞬間の海の輝きを楽しむこと。
もうひとつは、その輝きを静かに見据えて、過ぎ去った日々を懐かしむ老人のように記憶の埃を払うこと。
二つは重なり合わないようではあるけれども、たったひとつの意味しか生まない。
再生だ。
明日っていう、曖昧な日を確実なものへと変えてゆくために、自分の存在に向き合う。
それが再生の意味だ。
十八歳だった僕には大切な人がいた。

演技とかはすごかったです。
ラストも泣きましたね😢💦
以前から話しているように、僕は小説、映像っていうのは、それぞれ別の表現が良いと考えています。
理由は、表現の手法が異なるからです。
ですので、原作に沿った映像っていうのを、僕は好きではありません。
アニメ、アキラは、原作とアニメーションは異なりながらも、それぞれ極めた表現力でした。こういうのを僕は最強と評価しています😃

僕は今年５４才になりますが、写真を始めた頃はまだ３０代でした。
その最初の数年間のうち、一度だけ、ニコンに公募したことがあります。
が、うざいことを言われたのでやめました。
それ以降、僕はいっさい公募していません。
なぜそうしなかったのか？
僕は若い人たちに期待していたからです。

Black and white photography is (as you may have guessed) by far the most compelling medium for me (although I have a near-complete colour version of this image which I was tempted to post as an alternative!), and typically the advice when shooting is to seek out strong, contrasting colours and tones that convert well to shades of gray for a balanced tonal range. I am of course simplifying things greatly, but those of you who regularly shoot with the intent to convert to mono - and I understand there's something called 'film' too which apparently comes in black and white, what will they think of next? - will I'm sure have by now trained your eye to see in a grayscale colour space. Of course, this is easier said than done - there are scores of awful looking flat, washed out black and white photos created by those who give no consideration to their craft. I met another photographer whilst out on a shoot recently who expressed an interest in what I was taking, so I showed him some of my work via my iphone. He was (or claimed to be!) impressed and told me he'd previously thought of black and white shots in terms of what I've just described; wishy-washy and lacking the impact of their more colourful and vibrant cousins. Step forward anyone who converts to mono simply by just tugging at that little saturation slider - hang your head in shame...
This image was shot on the same foggy morning as 'Something In the Way', and I incurred similar decision making issues during post production (I'll ignore my capture process for the purpose of my point) with both shots, due to the effect of the foggy weather conditions. Don't misunderstand me - fog and mist are a photographer's dream, but I think because of the dampening effect they have on contrast, detail, pattern, texture and line, I believe it's perhaps easier to produce a pleasing picture in colour. As with 'Something In The Way', my challenge then was to try and introduce enough in the way of contrast to the scene to warrant the mono conversion. Some of you are very good at injecting punch into landscapes captured during these conditions, and for my personal preference I enjoy photographs where this level of contrast has been created subtly, so as to allow the poor atmospherics to still take precedence in the image. I'm not entirely sure I succeeded at this with either of these shots (and I might yet post a third from the same morning), but the challenge was an enjoyable one at any rate.

A small neglected dingy in Berry's Bay.
Berry's Bay as a whole was a collection of waterfront industries related to timber yards and shipbuilding, with simple waterfront structures and wharfage. It is now abandoned and awaiting redevelopment.

Main story
There are two reasons why a person faces the sea.
One, to enjoy a slice of shine in the sea like children bubbling over in the beach.
The other, to brush the dust of memory like an old man who misses old days, staring at the shine
quietly.
Those lead to only one meaning though they do not seem to overlap. It’s a rebirth.
I face myself to change tomorrow, a vague day into something certain.
That is the meaning of a rebirth.
I had a very sweet girlfriend when I was 18.
After she left, I knew the meaning of gentleness for the first time and also a true pain of loss. After
she left, how many times did I depend too much on her, doubt her, envy her and keep on telling lies
until I realized it is love?
I wonder whether a nobody like me could have given something to her who was struggling in the
daily life in those days. Giving something is arrogant conceit. It is nothing but self-satisfaction.
I had been thinking about such a thing.
However, I guess what she saw in me was because I had nothing. That‘s why she tried to see
something in me. Perhaps she found a slight possibility in me, a guy filled with ambiguous, unstable
tomorrow. But I wasted days depending too much on her gentleness.
Now I finally can convey how I felt in those days when we met.

あらすじ
大学を目指している北見ケイは、SNS上で、6歳年上のイベントコンパニオン、上村香織に出会う。
上京してきた香織の夢は、有名なアーティストの友達になるためだ。
そのためにはラジオ局のプロデューサー、大沢亮の存在が必要だった。
大沢は、ラジオの生放送中、香織へ語りかける。
「僕には妻子がある。しかし、僕は君に会いたいと思っている」
ケイの同級生で、彼を想っている三條里香は、香織の動向を探っていた。。。。。
本編
人が海へ向かう理由には、二つある。
ひとつは、波打ち際ではしゃぐ子供のように、今の瞬間の海の輝きを楽しむこと。
もうひとつは、その輝きを静かに見据えて、過ぎ去った日々を懐かしむ老人のように記憶の埃を払うこと。
二つは重なり合わないようではあるけれども、たったひとつの意味しか生まない。
再生だ。
明日っていう、曖昧な日を確実なものへと変えてゆくために、自分の存在に向き合う。
それが再生の意味だ。
十八歳だった僕には大切な人がいた。

I finally picked up a copy of the National Geographic - Complete National Parks of the United States. I sold them my photo of the North Bridge in the Minute Man National Historical Park. It's quite cool to see my photo and name in the book!! :)
oh, I will NOT quit my day job. LOL!

Eight of my night shots have been published in the April 2008 edition of Digital Photographer magazine Ukrainian edition (David, help for the translation!) in a special feature about night photography. My first publication ever in a specialized photo magazine.
Thanks to the chief editor Evgeniy Zubenko for selecting my photos.
Also a special thank to my Kuala Lumpur buddies Vedd, Ariffin for taking me to the best vantage points in KL, specially the one which is shown here on the magazine.
This shot is also the opportunity for you to see my workstation on which I spend way too much time! On the right screen, you can see the Photoshop screen and the 9 layers used to create the The Veins of Kuala Lumpur digital blended shot.

Continuing on a theme from my last post - this image also involves the unwelcome(?) inclusion of people. I've often shot at this location, yet can't recollect these warning flags being placed out before now - naturally anything new is inviting! To the left of me was a near empty beach. To the right of me was a near empty beach. Yet within seconds of me setting up to shoot, a mother and her two small children bounded into frame from the left, followed by a wakeboarder jettisoning himself in from the right.
I waited and waited to see if they would move. Of course they didn't, and by this stage I had already decided to postpone for half an hour or so and try again - knowing the tide would be on the turn which might bring some fresh interest to the base of the tripod frame. Nothing to do then but fire off a few test shots and take stock during my wait. Sure enough, once the waters shifted I was back in position - no young families or water sports practioners anywhere to be seen. And you know what? The empty pictures sucked. I'm not sure if it was due to changes in the light, or a subtle shift in the cloud or some other small alteration in circumstance - but regardless, like it or not I couldn't deny that the human interest appealed to me this time round...
Well, apart perhaps from the guy wakeboarding - he still looks kind of odd to me!

Main story
There are two reasons why a person faces the sea.
One, to enjoy a slice of shine in the sea like children bubbling over in the beach.
The other, to brush the dust of memory like an old man who misses old days, staring at the shine
quietly.
Those lead to only one meaning though they do not seem to overlap. It’s a rebirth.
I face myself to change tomorrow, a vague day into something certain.
That is the meaning of a rebirth.
I had a very sweet girlfriend when I was 18.
After she left, I knew the meaning of gentleness for the first time and also a true pain of loss. After
she left, how many times did I depend too much on her, doubt her, envy her and keep on telling lies
until I realized it is love?
I wonder whether a nobody like me could have given something to her who was struggling in the
daily life in those days. Giving something is arrogant conceit. It is nothing but self-satisfaction.
I had been thinking about such a thing.
However, I guess what she saw in me was because I had nothing. That‘s why she tried to see
something in me. Perhaps she found a slight possibility in me, a guy filled with ambiguous, unstable
tomorrow. But I wasted days depending too much on her gentleness.
Now I finally can convey how I felt in those days when we met.

しかし、様々な鑑定の結果、陽の光を浴びました。
誰にも気づかれない作品。肩書がなくとも静かに語りかける作品。
僕はこれから様々な形で、多くの皆様に提供できるよう努めてゆきます。

あらすじ
大学を目指している北見ケイは、SNS上で、6歳年上のイベントコンパニオン、上村香織に出会う。
上京してきた香織の夢は、有名なアーティストの友達になるためだ。
そのためにはラジオ局のプロデューサー、大沢亮の存在が必要だった。
大沢は、ラジオの生放送中、香織へ語りかける。
「僕には妻子がある。しかし、僕は君に会いたいと思っている」
ケイの同級生で、彼を想っている三條里香は、香織の動向を探っていた。。。。。
本編
人が海へ向かう理由には、二つある。
ひとつは、波打ち際ではしゃぐ子供のように、今の瞬間の海の輝きを楽しむこと。
もうひとつは、その輝きを静かに見据えて、過ぎ去った日々を懐かしむ老人のように記憶の埃を払うこと。
二つは重なり合わないようではあるけれども、たったひとつの意味しか生まない。
再生だ。
明日っていう、曖昧な日を確実なものへと変えてゆくために、自分の存在に向き合う。
それが再生の意味だ。
十八歳だった僕には大切な人がいた。
