Lantana Town Hall houses various departments, including city council, administration, public services and finance departments. Its city council comprises six members and the mayor, and has commissions and committees, such as historical society, charter commission, natural resource conservation, planning commission and senior advisory. Its administration department is presided by city manager and executive assistant and is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the city government. Lantana Town Hall also has a community development department that provides commercial and industrial services, including single family and multifamily residential developments. The department also offers services in marketing of properties. Its public services department undertakes the physical and economic development of the city, and comprises building inspections, engineering, parks and recreation, planning and public works divisions. Its finance department provides accounting and internal auditing services for all financial activities of the city. The city hall is located in Lantana, Fla.

The London Bus is one of London's principal icons, the archetypal red rear-entrance double-deck Routemaster being recognised worldwide. Although the Routemaster has now been largely phased out of service, with only two heritage routes still using the vehicles, the majority of buses in London are still red and therefore the red bus remains an iconic symbol of the city.
In Britain bus-type vehicles used for long distances or where it is not possible to get on at any stop and buy a ticket are always called coaches rather than buses.
In the 2008 London mayoral election campaign, prospective mayor Boris Johnson made several commitments to change the London Buses vehicle policy, namely to introduce a new Routemaster, and remove the bendy buses.
Most local buses within London form a network managed by London Buses, an arm of Transport for London, although most services are operated by private sector companies under contract to London Buses. With the introduction of the London congestion charge in central London and because at peak times the Underground is operating at maximum capacity, many bus service improvements have been undertaken, and central bus services are currently enjoying something of a resurgence.

The London Underground network, administered by Transport for London, is the most extensive underground railway network in the world, London Heathrow Airport is the world's busiest airport by number of international passengers and the airspace is the busiest of any urban centre in the world.

French people protesting against upcoming reforms bad for the quality of public services. As a result of those reforms, criteria of public service begin to give way to those of profitability. Our state services in France (heath, school, railway...) are among the best services in the world. But all the reforms impulsed by the government aim to slowly replace this very efficient public sector (open to everybody) by a private sector only focussed on financial gains. State-based social services and welfare entitlements are cut back or replaced by market-based provisions available only to those who can afford to pay.

Barclays Cycle Hire is a public bicycle sharing scheme that was launched on 30 July 2010 in London, UK. At launch there were 315 bicycle docking stations and 5,000 bicycles available in central London, with 400 docking stations and 6,000 bicycles being available at the end of summer 2010.
The scheme is also informally called the Boris Bike scheme after mayor Boris Johnson, who was in office at the time the scheme opened to the public. Johnson claims to have initiated the scheme, despite it being announced by his predecessor Ken Livingstone during his term in office. Boris Johnson has said that he "hoped the bikes would become as common as black cabs and red buses in the capital".
An expansion of the project was delayed as Transport for London struggled to deal with software glitches and problems caused by high customer demand.
The project initially covered about 17 square miles (44 square kilometres) of central London (covering the whole of the City of London and parts of eight London boroughs) and will cost an estimated £140 million over six years, although it is expected to pay for itself over time. Barclays' contribution is £25 million.
The bicycles and the docking stations are built in Canada and are based on Bixi, Montreal's bicycle rental system.

The scheme has so far proved popular, with over 90,000 registered users and one million cycle rides being taken in the first ten weeks of operation.[15] The millionth journey rider was awarded four annual memberships of the scheme for five years for free.[16]
However, the scheme has been criticised for having an insufficient free period (30 minutes) and for not enabling transport to the suburbs,[17] although TfL have described the scheme as "best for short journeys".[18] Some users have also found the bikes too heavy, at 23 kg.

These images belong to a series of albums documenting John Grantham’s service to the City of Newcastle upon Tyne as its Sheriff 1924-1925 and its Lord Mayor 1936-1937. John Grantham was born in Blyth in 1877 and became a cinema proprietor in Newcastle. He was elected to the City Council in 1912 and became an alderman in 1932. The albums give us an interesting insight into the duties of Lord Mayor and Sheriff as well as a fascinating picture of the times.
2016 is the 800th anniversary of the creation of Newcastle's Mayoralty and Burgesses.
