The Coptic church originated with the apostle Saint Mark in Alexandria, Egypt. Tradition dates its founding to 61 AD. This church was unfortunately closed when we arrived, but the beautiful mosaics on the exterior facade were worth the drive.
Went out this evening into the woods near my house. Ironically, despite the fact that it was getting darker by the minute and I was deliberately gathering 'spooky' photos, I felt totally safe and at peace. (I did stay vigilant though, just in case..!)
Sometimes we can all use a little Psalm 23...

I enjoyed talking to the shepherd about his passion (work), while sipping from fresh made tea. The sheep? They kept staring at me, while eating until they were full #psalm23

Psalm 23 is an example of a Psalm of Confidence, which expresses trust in God’s care for & leadership of his people.
This scene show king David (the Psalmist) walking along a path between flowering bushes, grasses, etc. He is heading along a winding path towards a bright castle in the distance, which is my representation of the house of the Lord (see verse 6). David is being accompanied by 2 glowing angelic like figures, which are visual representations within the picture of goodness & love (see verse 6).

My dear friend and Jr. High & High School leader was diagnosed with breast cancer today. She is also a professor at Biola University where my daughter plans on attending after High School.
Many prayers are going up for her!! Tomorrow is her surgery and we find out more of what stage and what they can do! She is a strong and amazing Christian woman that the Lord will carry her through this, but this is quiet a shock for us all!

It's a mixed emotion night tonight - we got really bad news and some good news. 1st the good news is my dad is doing really well with his cancer treatments - his blood count looks great and he's gained 5 pounds!!!
The bad news is a dear friend has just been told today she has breast cancer and this came out of the blue - surgery is scheduled tomorrow and we will find out more then.
My father in law is in the hospital once again an he has a blood infection and a valve in his heart isn't working so he's having a procedure tomorrow as well!!!!
Lots of prayers tonight and tomorrow for these urgent things - good things it's Spring Break, time for healing and hospital visiting.
The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.
He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
