The Governor also issued two proclamations to recognize May 21 - May 27 as Emergency Medical Services Week and May 24 as Emergency Medical Services for Children Day. The ceremony to honor the fallen EMS providers took place at the Empire State Plaza in Albany, in observance of EMS Week.

Tune Talk, the country’s newest mobile service provider will be heating up the 15th Edition of Asia’s premier cycling event, Le Tour de Langkawi (LTDL) 2010 by participating in the Tour’s cavalcade procession from 26 February – 7 March.
Tune Talk’s striking red and white car will be part of LTDL’s cavalcade procession that starts with a pre-event tour starting off at the LTDL Headquarters in Bukit Jalil, Kuala Lumpur heading for Kuantan on Friday 26 February. From Kuantan, the convoy will be going to Kuala Terengganu on Saturday and then Kota Bharu on Sunday.
Upon official flagging off of the LTDL race in Kota Bharu on Monday 1 March, the cavalcade together with participating cyclists will go through seven states of Kelantan, Terengganu, Pahang, Johor, Melaka, Negeri Sembilan, Selangor and two Federal Territories – Putrajaya and Kuala Lumpur covering a total distance of 1,013.9 km.

Fairchild C-123B Provider L4-7/07 serial 555.
The Fairchild C-123B Provider at the Royal Thai Air Force Museum in Bangkok is a historically significant short-range assault transport. Transferred to the Royal Thai Air Force (RTAF) following the Vietnam War, this particular aircraft is Serial No. L4-6/07, Code 555.
Originally manufactured by Fairchild Aircraft, the C-123 was designed to transport troops and cargo to and from small, unprepared jungle airstrips. After its use in the Southeast Asia conflict, the United States transferred several Providers to the South Vietnamese and Royal Thai air forces.
As a B-model, this aircraft features two Pratt & Whitney radial piston engines and is known for its spacious cargo hold that can carry 60 combat-equipped troops or 50 stretchers.
The Royal Thai Air Force (RTAF) was one of the most prominent international operators of the Fairchild C-123 Provider, maintaining a robust fleet of 42 aircraft from 1964 until their retirement in 1995. Acting as the backbone of Thailand's tactical airlift capability during the peak of the Cold War and the Vietnam War, these rugged transport planes played a critical role in regional security.
The RTAF acquired its Providers via United States Military Assistance Program (MAP) surplus transfers. The fleet consisted of 22 C-123B models (purely piston-powered) and 20 C-123K models (upgraded with two auxiliary underwing J85 turbojet engines for better short-takeoff performance).
The aircraft were primarily assigned to 61 Squadron and 62 Squadron under Wing 6, stationed out of Don Mueang Air Base in Bangkok. The RTAF utilized this to supply remote border outposts, transport troops, and deliver humanitarian aid across rugged, mountainous terrain where larger aircraft could not land.
Throughout the 1970s and 1980s, Thailand faced internal communist insurgencies along its borders. The Providers were actively used to rapidly deploy troops, drop paratroopers, and handle medical evacuations (MEDEVAC).
The RTAF became the last major air force to fly the Provider, finally phasing them out in 1995. Just before their retirement, four of the RTAF’s active C-123Ks gained international fame when they were leased to Hollywood to star in the 1990 movie Air America.
Today, Thailand holds one of the highest numbers of preserved Providers in the world, with up to 18 airframes on display at various airbases and museums across the country.
