Huge congratulations to the Water Protectors out there. We appreciate the efforts and the work that you have done on behalf of all of us and we are grateful for that.
With the media and the politicians flat out ignoring these issues is embarrassing, but paved the way for our Veterans to arrive on the scene and that probably had much to do with the US Army Corps suddenly not issuing a permit.
The struggle isn't over, but this is a victory on the long journey ahead. Again, congrats and thank you to the Water Protectors and to the Veterans.

One of the locations that I was determined to get to on my trip was South Stack as I went there several years ago and didn't get anything that I liked but then the visit at that time was rushed and arrived just as the sun was setting. This time I arrived well ahead of sunset, so I could take my time, allowing me to get much more from the visit (just as well as it is quite far from where I was staying) and as you can see, I even got the drone up.
The Praying Mantis; the Garden Protector. He decided to stop by and pay a visit, reminding us to calm down and know that we are protected. That we need not worry. That we need not stress over the details of the day.

Photo taken 0n FujiChrome slide film in 1985 in Algonquin Park on Pog Lake while canoeing. Back in the day I was shooting with a Minolta XG-M and Tamron Adaptall-2 60-300mm Lens. Details are not fantastic.

Image was taken of the Milky Way over Little Lava Lake in Central Oregon. Dragons from the imagination.
In the place there are three lagoons: Laguna Cejar, Laguna Stone and Laguna Baltinache. The bath is only allowed in one of them, the Laguna Piedra, which is the smallest. The other two lagoons, larger, can only be seen very closely by footpaths and belvederes.
To get to Laguna Piedra, where the bath takes place, it is necessary to walk along a path that is about 200 meters from the parking lot. The distance, though short, bothers you a little when you need to get out of the pond with your body full of salt to get to the fresh water showers, as the friction of the excessive salt in your body while you walk is kind of nasty.
It is not allowed to use sunscreen in the place to not pollute the waters of the lagoon. So the recommendation is for you to wear a protector at the hotel before starting the tour. The use of protectors is fundamental in this and in all the tours of the Atacama, because the sun in the region is very strong, especially in the afternoon. Another indispensable item is the water bottle, preferably large, because you will need to constantly moisturize on the sidewalks.
Amazingly, the German forests are full of "growth protectors" in areas of reforestation. This one was seen near Mintraching (Upper palatinate, Bavaria).
The Protector
An early morning trip out into the Eden Valley this morning hoping for a wee bit of mist to work with.
As always I am drawn to trees, especially those loners caught in a bit of mist. A really great looking tree this one close to Temple Sowerby near Penrith.
I loved the sheep that were lying beneath its branches, almost under its protection.
