Status: endangered, resident
The wind speed (about 20 meters/second) combined with icy snow showers did not bother us much. With right kind of gear we could enjoy the scenery of Jurmo to the fullest. This was shot at the southern shores of the island where we stopped for a while to have a cup of warming coffee from the thermos.
Instead of confronting this larger threat, the mother duck simply placed herself between the Muscovy and her ducklings.

As the herd of elephants look to return to the safety of the thick jungle, a protective cordon is formed around this newly baby elephant.
The magnificence of these animals can be appreciated by the manner in which these large mammals are able to walk so carefully around the infant.

All of these were taken from the safety of my car, DURING RUSH HOUR, usually when it was stopped at the light, so the quality is pretty poor. But the purpose of it was to show the effect of this pandemic in NYC. I am at fairly high risk for the virus, so I would not leave my car, but I felt it important to document it

We've just returned from our Summer Holiday which this year was spent in a tent in Cornwall. Although we were quite lucky with the weather it did get very windy towards the end of the week. We were thankful to the motorhome owner who parked his RV between our tent and the remains of hurricane Bill trying to blow our tent away! Still the small boy was well protected. He had his 'wiggly-worm' sleeping bag and Marble to help him sleep through the noise of the wind and rain hammering the tent. Wish we'd had Marble to protect us in our bed, a couple of times Zoë put her hand up thinking the whole side of the tent was about to collapse!
