The Laguna Grande de Peñalara (Great Peñalara Lake), also known as Laguna de Peñalara, is a glacial lake nestled at the bottom of the Peñalara cirque. Located at an altitude of 2,017 meters, it lies in the central part of the Sierra de Guadarrama, within the Central System of the Iberian Peninsula.

The name Elbe Sandstone Mountains derives from the sandstone which was carved by erosion. The river Elbe breaks through the mountain range in a steep and narrow valley.

My version of the "classic shot" of Viru raba (Viru bog) taken from the observation tower that floats ontop of the bog itself. The bog is such a beautiful place. Truly worth visiting.
