Prostate cancer develops in a man’s prostate, the walnut-sized gland just below the bladder that produces some of the fluid in semen. It’s the most common cancer in men after skin cancer. Prostate cancer often grows very slowly and may not cause significant harm. But some types are more aggressive and can spread quickly without treatment.

Symtoms:

1.Frequent urination, especially at night

2.Difficulty starting or stopping urination

3.Weak or interrupted urinary stream

4.Painful or burning sensation during urination or ejaculation

.Blood in urine or semen

Sunday 15th October 2017. By rights I should not be here. My consultant gave me approx six months, around March!

Today, my son (Brian 41) sent me a text message informing me that he has been to have his prostate gland checked by his GP and all is well. That's a massive relief for all of the family.

About a week ago me and Julie were sitting down weeding our lock-block driveway. I was surprised that I could get that far down. But we got the job done over two days. On day three my left hip and thigh were absolutely 'stoonin' with pain and I could barely walk. A few days later we attended a concert in Glasgow. A friend of ours (Richard) drove us down and back. The concert was two and a half hours long, but I sat through it quite comfortably. Since that day the pain has dropped considerably, but I have to be really careful getting up out of seats and my initial few steps. Tomorrow, we go to my GP to see about a steppy up in my pain relief. I feel incredibly lucky to still be here and I'm cheekily looking forward to Christmas.

As from 17th October 2017, my medication includes 50mg Diclofenac Sodium three times a day.

Prostate cancer can be treated best when the cancer is found early and is still confined to the prostate. In many cases, the cancer does not go away after treatment but stops growing or shrinks in size. Men usually return to normal or near normal good health. This may last for months or years. Prostate cancer is the most common male cancer in the U.S.

The day blooms

The shadow looms.

A few weeks to go

Before the radiotherapy blows,

Zapping those cancer cells

Can it be worse than this testosteroneless hell?

It looks like it will,

so I'll swallow the bitter pill

And together we will see it through

Untill I have paid all my dues.

Stereotactic body radiation therapy delivers targeted radiation beams to the prostate without incision or sedation using CyberKnife technology.

I have prostate cancer - what time is it? Prostate cancer is the leading cause of death for men in Jaipur. As with any cancer, the primary effect is the key to health. There are many treatment options, but it can be a little confusing.

Initially I was prescribed two of these sachets per day. That was totally inappropriate. I was just managing to reach the toilet by a split second. So I knocked my dose back to one sachet per day. That still wasn't ideal, but I do believe that I've got it now: Open one sachet, remove a teaspoons worth of the white powder and ditch it, then add my 125ml of water. That appears to be all that's required.

Lucky Me: Huntington's disease and Prostate cancer T4.
