Celebrating the 10th Anniversary Golden Horseshoe Motorcycle Ride For Dad.

A special THANKS to everyone who came out, volunteered and supported us! Without YOU, we would not have been able to raise over $40,000 to support Prostate Cancer Research and Awareness. Thank you for such a successful event. We appreciate it!

Hubby's home after a brief hospital stay, and has to wear post-surgery compression stockings for a couple of weeks.

We've dubbed them 'the Devil's pop socks' - if you've ever had to wear them you'll know why...

Prostate cancer can be treated best when the cancer is found early and is still confined to the prostate. In many cases, the cancer does not go away after treatment but stops growing or shrinks in size. Men usually return to normal or near normal good health. This may last for months or years. Prostate cancer is the most common male cancer in the U.S.

These were taken on the morning of 27th January 2018.

The forth & fifth tablets from the top of this photo are: MST Continus 10mg. They have superceded the Tramadol that I was being subscribed. The MST Continus will grow in strength as time goes on. It will be helped by a liquid morphine solution very soon.

The day blooms

The shadow looms.

A few weeks to go

Before the radiotherapy blows,

Zapping those cancer cells

Can it be worse than this testosteroneless hell?

It looks like it will,

so I'll swallow the bitter pill

And together we will see it through

Untill I have paid all my dues.

Yes, I emerge unscathed [at least physically] from the 9th chemo session.

Wearing my 'Life Is Good' t-shirt [well, it's better than the alternative] and pointing out my Prostate Cancer Charity button all seems well.

Omeprazole, Paroxatine, Dexamethasone, Ompeprazole, Docusate sodium & Paracetamol.

This s the sixth week

Two weeks and one day to go

Of side effects, nothing to speak,

Hormone therapy masks much of the show.

How many others have sat here,

Waiting patiently in Waiting Area D?

Waiting for the treatment to end, for the all clear,

Hoping that the hot beam holds the key.

So Linac first, then the Clinic Review.

A different area to wait and sit,

Then hear the consultant ask: "How are you?

You're looking well. Are you fit?"

I smile and say "I'm doing fine"

He looks at me so benign

"Any trouble with you're urine?

"No" I say "I'm keeping off the wine"

Soon over and back to the car.

Back to the roads and the traffic queue,

Back to the radio and mindless jabber

And back to work, where trouble brews.

Three more medications for me: Sevredol, Lorazepam & Morphine sulfate. Lovely! This is over and above all the others that I'm on.

The Yroswell table had lots of fun items for the kids.
