Serial number 43319 was arriving as BWA612 (Caribbean Airlines Limited) from Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago.

I have replaced my feeders with one that is "so far" squirrel proof and another that is filled with food that the squirrels don't like. I caught this one munching on an acorn...of which there are tons of them in the area. The only bird food that the squirrels are getting is that which the birds spill out of the feeder...lol.

A pleasant surprise rolled out of the fog at CP Ross this morning: a Norfolk Southern SD40E leading train 36Q. The former Conrail SD50 was first built in 1983; it was completely rebuilt in 2010 at the Juniata Shops in Altoona to SD40E specs. Popular in helper service, it was a rare treat to see one leading a manifest train on the Lurgan Branch.

Managed to get 50 minutes of imaging before the clouds rolled in.
I was going to try guiding but my guide camera slipped out the guidescope!
50x60secs, lights only, no calibration files, unguided.
ASI533mc pro, WO Z61 scope, Asiair Pro. EQ5 mount.
Did some more study of Astro Pixel Processor after the first attempt at processing the image and produced this one but still a lot more to learn.
Armed with the proper tools, I went back to my favorite HDR location last night hopefully to get a little inspiration. Knowing the right spots this time, I got lazy and stopped exploring and started exploiting my favorite spot with my dirty car.
It took me a while and 2 attempts to get the post processing of this to look the way I anticipated. Although this may still not be perfect, but it made to my personal favorite HDR shot I've made so far. It took me a while to get the color to look right fumbling with my D70 at night (even after the fact that I snapped 10 shots to try to get the color balance right, it still came out to be off), but then I think the effort is well worth it.
Featuring my Subaru WRX wagon that has a long list of modifications that I'm sure you don't want to know. :-)

I reckon this is by far my best damselfly shot yet. Had a great morning out with these little emerald damsels. Even though it was early they where quite active so there was a lot of failed stacks! Love the upright position of this one though.

This superb Duple 425 turned up in Penzance on the 18 from Camborne (not that you could tell no visible blinds, good job I noted the working in a note book after checking with the driver!)
Found even more of my old snap earlier on a CD that I had misplaced, taken ages sifting through them, exciting way to spend a Sunday afternoon! :-)

CSXT 8357 and 5233 lead a K train loaded with stone that will be interchanged to the AVR at Glenwood yard. The train consisted of a lot of former Algoma Central hoppers.
Much missed B1 61264 approaches Kinchley Lane in winter 2000/2001. In case anyones interested it was not on a charter ! 29th December 2000.
I've been told that I draw "like a five year old". I don't think that those people get that I choose to draw that way. I *could* draw in this style all the time, if I wanted to, but I don't (although I do enjoy it now and then.)
This was a v. quick drawing because Mr P. kept moving.
I actually did it. After all this time I made a proper build for the Unnamed universe and wrote something for it! I've no idea where it fits in, but the important thing is it's not another world-building post.
Rain falls as Batman races through the streets. Victor Zsasz, Psychotic, unpredictable, has broken out of Blackgate. Imprisoned for nearly two decades, he's bound to kill again. And Batman has to stop him.
He reaches the corner of Wayne Square, but he's too late. The dilapidated buildings, falling apart with years of neglect, frame our scene. A woman, lies face down on the ground, blood trailing off into a murky pool of water. She's dead, has been for at least 10 minutes. Batman looks up to see Zsasz, leaning against the railing, smoking a cigarette, looking mournfully at his work.
He looks up, flickers of ember falling from the lit cigarette, sizzling against the sodden concrete.
"It's changed" he says absentmindedly. "This city, it's worse now, worse than it's ever been."
Batman says nothing. Gotham's been on the downward grind for a while now. While Neo-Gotham grows more rich by the day, Old Gotham just keeps getting worse. Before you'd see the rich and famous donating money to various causes, trying to help those in need, but now they lock themselves away in Neo-Gotham, safely away from the wretches and the filth of the old city.
"No one came for her y'know." Zsasz sighs. "She screamed and screamed and no one came. They all just locked their doors, pulled the shutters down, and pretended this grisly deed wasn't happening."
"Then why do it Victor?"
Zsasz flicked the cigarette away and stretched his arms out. "The same reason as sixteen years ago Batman, it was a mercy killing, freeing her from the hell that is Gotham city!"
He chuckled, a raspy chuckle that would send a chill up your spine. "It's so much worse now, since the Joker killed Batman, since the old guard died, even worse when they shut down Arkham." He held his arms out in front of him. "May as well take me back to Blackgate, I just wanted to see how it had changed. This isn't my Gotham anymore, and these people don't deserve to be saved."
Well that was rather depressing wasn't it. Unfortunately this is the world that Batman II lives in, where charity is dead and people hide away rather than help. Hopefully the next instalment (if there is one) will be a bit more uplifting.

My affinity for pumps is not what it once was, I'm drawn more to strappy open toe sandals with a little pizzazz these days. This pair of classic pencil thin 5 inch stilettos are an exception. These were sent to me by a friend in Europe over the Winter and I've been looking forward to some warmer weather to break them out.
Doing my best to present as a proper lady in this fabulous old hotel. This dress really is purple, the same color as the shoes. I have no idea why it shows up so blue on the camera.

This delightful instrument of death has been turned into one of vanity! The mirror on this is reflective so probes will be needed to see a proper reflection in the area you place it.

The folks that live in this community definitely don't need any help when it comes to decorating! They go all out for holidays and especially the 4th of July! After the dinner/dance they start marshaling up the golf carts in the front parking lot, getting ready for the parade. It wouldn't do just to have your ride pimped out, you need to be dressed the part as well!
This is from our community party/dance/parade. The folks that live here are pretty patriotic, it comes with the generation.
