Ben is helping me by being a size model for a bra I made for his wife, Wilhelmina. She should be arriving some time this week.

Just got a roll of b&w developed, from my 500N. I'm getting a lot of satisfaction from film!

Proper technique will bring about proper form. While my breaststoke is fairly immaculate, my freestyle is sloppy. I was a sprinter in high school. My mission was to get from one side of the pool and back in the fastest way possible. I didn't care much for subtleties back then. Like I mentioned in yesterday's photo, I was about brute force. The bigger and stronger I was, the more I could pound the water into submission.

But today, at age 31, I'm bigger and stronger than I ever was in high school. You would think that I could power my way through, but I can't. And the reason is that I am bigger and stronger. What I lack is grace. Form. Proper movements. I'm learning them and it feels awkward and oddly correct.

Strength can only be utilized if there is understanding of how it should be used. Take what you are best at and refine the proper technique for it.
