The Nolan No. 2 Proof Press makes galley proofs or uses a galley plate for standing type. Its design compensates for various thicknesses of paper- a nice feature. It cost $167.00 in 1956, when stationary stores actually sold real carbon paper. This one is used for testing ink colors and pulling galley proofs.
Members of the registered student organization 80 Proof held an event at Alumni Circle on Wednesday to promote awareness about alcohol abuse. The event was held in conjunction with National Campus Safety Month, and used vision-impairing goggles to simulate the effects of the over consumption of alcohol. Students drove pedal cars and attempted miniature golf, ping pong and bowling challenges. Other events are planned for the month and can be found at www.ucapd.org/index.php/national-campus-safety-awareness-....
Photographer J. W. Black of Boston was known to have stamped his work with a proof mark pending approval by his customers. This CDV of a young gentleman has a rubber stamp proof mark dated January 2, 1864 on the front and a notation on the back saying "Jan. 11, 10 days" that presumably means that the proof was to be returned ten days later on January 11.

There was this moment we experienced. Over and over again. Look at the kid in the middle. His face tells it all.
Everywhere we went, once we brought out the cameras, we were stars. Sort of a reverse paparazzi deal, I guess. Every kid would yell, "snap me, snap me." Once we snapped their photo, "let me see" would soon follow. We would. Then this.
Every time.
It never got old.

Modeling the black & gold "Gold 45 Revolver" Gold'N'Virtue swimsuits with the main equation to Moving Dimensions Theory on the swimsuits: dx4/dt=ic. Yes I have a Ph.D. in physics! :) You can read more about my research and Hero's Journey Physics here:
herosjourneyphysics.wordpress.com/ MDT PROOF#2: Einstein (1912 Man. on Rel.) and Minkowski wrote x4=ict. Ergo dx4/dt=ic--the foundational equation of all time and motion which is on all the shirts and swimsuits. Every photon that hits my Nikon D800e's sensor does it by surfing the fourth expanding dimension, which is moving at c relative to the three spatial dimensions, or dx4/dt=ic!
May the Hero's Journey Mythology Goddess inspire you (as they have inspired me!) along your own artistic journey! Love, love, love the 70-200mm F/2.8 Lens! :)

A Gold 45 Goddess exalts the archetypal form of Athena--the Greek Goddess of wisdom, warfare, strategy, heroic endeavour, handicrafts and reason. A Gold 45 Goddess embodies 45SURF's motto "Virtus, Honoris, et Actio Pro Veritas, Amor, et Bellus, (Strength, Honor, and Action for Truth, Love, and Beauty," and she stands ready to inspire and guide you along your epic, heroic journey into art and mythology. It is Athena who descends to call Telemachus to Adventure in the first book of Homer's Odyssey--to man up, find news of his true father Odysseus, and rid his home of the false suitors, and too, it is Athena who descends in the first book of Homer's Iliad, to calm the Rage of Achilles who is about to draw his sword so as to slay his commander who just seized Achilles' prize, thusly robbing Achilles of his Honor--the higher prize Achilles fought for. And now Athena descends once again, assuming the form of a Gold 45 Goddess, to inspire you along your epic journey of heroic endeavour.
Everything holds up like it should. No strings attached or glue used. The tail holds its own weight, barely... Pretty solid build. Dropped it once already and barely broke apart. So far so good. Just need more parts lol!!! As usual... Over all this build is coming along great!!!
An outtake from last week. proof is a great restaurant in downtown Des Moines. Caught it late afternoon with a reflection of the Ruan Center on the left and 801 Grand in the center.
Elizabeth said we all do it. I just wanted to prove that we all don't. ;-)
I will admit that I won't pass up the occasional Bud Light or Miller Lite if I'm out drinking with friends or at a BBQ. But I couldn't tell you the last time I brought any of that swill home...lol!

Ever since Mr Chiots and I mentioned that we were building a teardrop camper people keep asking for photos. We were joking the other day that no one really believes that we're doing it, much less that we'll have it finished this month. Here's some proof for all you who keep wanting to know how it's going and keep asking for photos.
Mr Chiots has been spending a few hours almost every evening out in the garage cutting, sanding, wiring, measuring, nailing and putting together the little camper. The garage is filled with formaldyhyde free plywood, aluminum for skinning and various shapes and sizes of lights and other things needed for the build. We're building it out of all no/low VOC & natural materials.
