Home-made, for the firecracker decoration made for Chinese New Year. Back in February. Still adorning the window. Maybe I should take it down now.....
Since you left I have felt so hurt, alone and angry. You left to early and at a moment I needed you so much. It feels like we have left unfinished things and words. The need for you never changed, but I had kept it tucked away deep inside me. I couldn’t even feel the love I feel for you for so long.
The last two years have been an emotional rollercoaster. I finally dared to look at the pain I have felt for the last 30 years. Since last week I have known that you are with me more than I think. I feel myself a child again and can finally cry about you. (Amazing what a fall from 5 meter can do to a person). Thank you, mom, for being here.

Another more minimalist page; I did very little here--the phoenix illustration, filled in with very opaque black paint, and then the addition of the prompt word "soar" and the relevant lyrics by Ani Difranco:
god help you if you are a phoenix
and you dare to rise up from the ash
a thousand eyes will smolder
with jealousy while you are just
flying past
I had another idea for this prompt, which I kind of sat on for a few days, then abandoned. In attempting this one, I thought the use of the wax was clever, but am not so happy with the finished product.
Made for Dawn Sokol's Art Journal Stimulus Project. (www.dblogala.com/)
I am now getting this annoying prompt every time I open Firefox for the first time daily. Has anyone else seeen this behavior?
Random brown and red swirls were drawn with colored pencils for the background.
I doodled my name in style of the Coca-Cola font.
