Midjourney prompt using the actual verse itself into the AI. Version 5.0 generated artwork from the following.... ’Twas brillig, and the slithy toves Did gyre and gimble in the wabe; All mimsy were the borogoves, And the mome raths outgrabe.
The painting is backed with a small piece of linen, which I wrapped around a painted stick. The stick was then glued to these small tiles, which, in turn and finally, were glued to the page.

In this mirror i wrote the word inspiration. The reflection of something else can inspire you to do something or become someone and grow as a person.
Three words jumped out when I was journaling on today's prompt: balance, strength, gentleness. Then, it made sense. My goal is to balance strength + gentleness.
This photo is of me having a cry on the porch (and another one as I write these words). It seems that pain, illness, and endings are a main presence in so many of my relationships these days - a dear childhood friend in palliative care, dying of lymphoma at 35; my uncle, struggling to find quality in his days when he's only got weeks left; my brother-in-law's dad, facing the possibility of life with no voice after a tumour is removed from his tongue; a family friend's beloved wife, who lost her battle with breast cancer on Friday night; even my dear old cat, Buddy, who's quality of life lessens every day and I know will need me to choose to peacefully end his pain. So much loss.
My "default position" is to be the strong one, to be in control so others can grieve, immerse themselves in their loss, take care of themselves and their loved ones. I am strong for others, but I also need to be gentle with myself.

I decided to do a simple pop-up. I wanted to embellish this more, but I seem to do best when I keep it simple.

Photoshoot in Space
Artist Statement: I decided to make this art work because I took the two places that fascinate me and those places are the moon and the ocean. The shark/squid represent the ocean and the astronauts and moon surface represent space. I interpreted this years prompt as something that could never truly happen in space and I know that a half shark half squid floating in space could never actually happen in real life so that is why I decided to base my artwork on that.
Forgot to take a photo of this before i went to paint. And i broke rule #1 right away: fussing way too much. Hoping to attempt the alternative approach, which is drawing in ink first and measure in pencil over the top.
As soon as I heard iMyke mention Mario on episode 31 of The Prompt as I was driving to pick Hamish up from school, I paused it because I knew he'd enjoy it as he did with the Incomparable #177. He's a 7-year-old Mario addict! Thanks to @5by5 for keeping things clean so Hamish can enjoy these shows with me on the school run!
Balance. What is balance?
My experience is that balance is sometimes hard to accomplish in life (if I have ever found it). To gain balance you have to let go of your fears. Be still inside. Listening. What does your heart tell you. Following what your heart tells you and act on that need takes a lot of courage. Often that what you need to find balance can be found one step beyond your comfort zone. Trust is everything, because the universe will take great care of you.
