First Sgt. Jessica Dickenson is promoted to the rank of sergeant major Sept. 20, 2024, at a ceremony in Troutville, Virginia. Dickenson has served in various leadership positions within the Virginia Army National Guard’s Recruiting and Retention Battalion, including as a recruiter, section chief and company first sergeant. She most recently served as the battalion’s operations noncommissioned officer-in-charge, and is now the battalion’s newly-appointed command sergeant major. Lt. Col. Among other things, a number of the heavily funded BigMoneySF political pressure groups proliferating in San Francisco may begin going his way. These outfits are largely bankrolled by wealthy businessmen and VCs, and Farrell is one of their own. The 501(c)(4) TogetherSF Action is run by Farrell’s former staffers, and has been — only somewhat humorously — referred to as the Farrell Administration in Exile. Farrell’s wife serves on the board of directors of the 501(c)(3) TogetherSF.
It would be more than a little surprising if TogetherSF Action doesn’t throw down for its own returning King Aragorn. And more will follow. missionlocal.org/2024/02/mark-farrell-enters-sf-mayors-ra...

Photograph taken while gravewalking the Tracy City (Tennessee) cemetery for Find A Grave.
The prior two images in my photostream are a headstone and a cenotaph stone for two of the Reverend's children who predeceased him: a daughter who died at 3 days of age in 1947, and a son who died at 9-1/2 in 1963.
His wife and some other relatives are also buried in the family plot. If there were other children, they're still above ground.
I like the Reverend's epitaph:
Promoted to Glory
I made a memorial for him on Find A Grave:
For three weeks we are holding the Cardboardia Lab in which we created the large-scale space of the Cardboardia Embassy at Abasto (Buenos Aires). The project involves about 30 artists, architects, tattoo artists, artists/performers, producers, musicians who are interested in art in public spaces.
The Cardboardia Embassy in Abasto was created to promote international cooperation between cultures, commissioned by the Ministry of Culture and supported by the Ministry of Education of Buenos Aires.
On the grounds of the Cardboardia Embassy, Russian and Argentine Personages of Cardboardia will present their understanding of the story of the turtle Manuelita, the hero of author Maria Elena Walsh. Attentive visitors will also find there secret exhibitions of young Argentine and Russian artists. During the school vacations, local Abasto organizations will hold workshops, performances, concerts and the Personages of Cardboardia will create several performances on the stage at the Cartonia Embassy. Everything will end with carnival workshops and a big ritual around the paper sea on July 28, 2023!

Raymond E. Prentis, mail clerk at the U.S. Naval Submarine Base, Pearl Harbor, was recently promoted to the rate of Teleman Second Class. This information was received this week by his parents, Senator and Mrs. X.T. Prentis, of Mount Ayr, in a letter from Lt. E.A. Taylor, Director Communications Department. Contents of the letter are as follows: "It is my pleasure to inform you of your son's advancement to the rate of Teleman Second Class, U.S. Navy, while serving at this command. Ray has shown in himself the desire to advance and through personal initiative has proved his reliability. His promotion to petty officer second class is the navy's way of recognizing his ability, skill and knowledge. I know you are proud of your son, just as we are proud of all the men in the naval service and particularly those who have shown themselves to be above average. As he has no doubt told you, advancement to a higher petty officer status is a worthwhile achievement in the navy and carries with it additional responsibilities as well as privileges and more pay. He will be called upon to supervise larger groups of lower rated men, directing their work and assuring a smooth and continuous flow of work from his department. This contributes materially to the efficient operation of this command and of the navy as a whole. Ray has proved himself dependable and capable of fulfilling these responsibilities and I am confident he will continue to do the excellent work which he has done in the past. I would like to add here my personal congratulations. You have a fine son and he is doing a splendid job.
[Note: Dad went on to become head postmaster in charge of the Naval Post Office at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii.]
