Christmas Eve Day was sunny and bright, there was so much color even in winter ... you can find the beginnings of spring.

Just getting on with a few photos taken using my mobile phone at the moment. we've just relocated to another part of the country and I haven't unpacked the cameras properly yet !

El Matador State Beach

I had such a wonderful time taking photos of the Airfest in Santa Maria and around Pismo Beach on 10/15-16 and I figured there might be some wonderful weather the next weekend.
I saw some blue skies to the north and got off the freeway in Santa Monica, but misjudged my lane and ended up on Pacific Coast Highway instead of Ocean Blvd. I figured this was serendipity and continued on to El Matador State Beach, 25 miles north.
This was the scene as I began my trek down to the water. Looks like I was in for a marvelous skyscape.
The blue was gone really quickly after this, however, and although I did spend a little over an hour here and at La Piedra up the coast a bit, I didn't get the photos I'd imagined.
Better luck next time, when hopefully the promise will be fulfilled. I'm not disappointed.

She pouted, heaving a huge sigh, still looking up at the sky. Stubborn nature taking over, "I don't care, I'll never come back." she said adamantly.
"In due time..." The words were whispered, a hand reaching over her chest, "Don't waste time..." it repeated over and over...
P.S. Photo taken at one of Missing Melody's public spots, the open meadow. Best place for inspiration and relaxation. ;)

An unimportant little flowering weed living its life. I'd never have notice without a macro lens on my camera.
As the path of life stretches into the unseen, the Shepherd has left His light to guide the way. As promised this weeks SNS's both feature CNW BIGS, this is a really cool shot of quite the lash at Euclid yard in Ishpeming with CNW 6701, LS&I 2300 and CNW Baldwin/EMD 1507 getting ready to depart on an Escanaba bound ore load. This was shot on April 10, 1979 and while it was fairly common for both SOO and CNW to lease out LS&I power during the winter this is getting well into spring for an LS&I to still be working off line. Credit Joe Seidl for this Northwoods ore country classic.
