That day was a very nice morning over the Catbells and Borrowdale. As we were walking down, the sun shafts were focused on the farms below, I liked the way it brought out the pastures and sheep dotted around.

I wanted to bring out the light shafts/godrays, but I still don't know how people do it in postprocessing, I just do guesswork, in this case I just increased contrast and decreased midtones.

Crabapple blossom.

Our star magnolia is the first bloomer in our yard and is the promise that Spring in on the way.

Don't give up on me

This sunrise was taken at one of my favorite morning locations - one that is familiar, and that never disappoints. I have returned to this site many times and have posted a number of morning shots taken here - each one similar and each one holding the promise of a fresh start - a new day. I have a dear friend who is completing a difficult phase of her journey in photography -a journey that will continue and progress. On flickr she is known as brown pelican - to me she is known as friend. Laura this is for you - a sunrise full of hope and the joys of a new beginning. Congratulations - and enjoy your summer.
