I finally reunited with my favorites photo buddy, Jerry, to do a photo shoot I have desperately been wanting to do since we parted 2 years ago! With his catchy BMW convertible (big props to Jerry), we needed just one last element - a stunning blonde - which we lucked out in Brittney!
As inexperienced in car photography as we are, Brittney seemed to know what we were trying to do. Easygoing, light-hearted and down-to-earth would be serious understatements of her. Admittedly, the shoot might have ended up a disappointment if it wasn’t for Brittney’s vivid persona and spectacular performance.
Instead of going for an elegant and timeless look, we deviated to the “California girl” style because well, it’s Malibu and who could resist the flare, the sand and the breeze?!
Of course there’s a lot of room for improvement (e.g. we even forgot to turn on Z4’s headlight… what a dumbass mistake). And yes, I planned this so so so last minute and failed to capture the look I was initially after. But so what? Spending an afternoon in the scenic Malibu and carrying out my first-ever car shoot with these wonderful peeps… it’s invaluable.
Oh, did I mention we wrapped up with legit sushi and lots of laughters?
This initiative was created to raise awareness and understanding, encouraging discussion around Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and autism. It is curated by Liverpool-based ADHD Foundation, which this year celebrates its tenth anniversary as a charity, the Umbrella Project can be seen in Church Alley (leading up to the Bluecoat) in Liverp[ool and is there until the end of August. The individual umbrellas have also been personally signed by children from St Oswald’s primary school in Old Swan and across Merseyside, many of whom have ADHD, autism and other neurodevelopment conditions.

Project Dark Star:
After the failed Martian Invasion of 1896, British intelligence salvaged the abandoned Martian technology to experiment and study it's secrets. Reverse Engineering the tripods, handling machines and the deadly heat ray.
But the Martian flying machine was of great interest to them. And a few years after the invasion the Royal science Division created project Dark Star: An atmospheric reconnaissance aircraft. A fast, agile flying machine that boasted state of the art communications, incredible speeds and state of the art weaponry...
I really wanted to make an interesting vehicle with those old neon green canopy pieces. And I wanted to keep it steampunk. So the idea of a retro gothic Victorian flying machine rattled around in my brain.
Asymmetry was another factor, drawing heavy inspiration from asymmetrical Star Wars vehicles.

Photo Composite Project for my work "The Walk In The Park " (2020)
For this work i used some photos of mine about an ancient Portuguese tile taken in Sintra, a modern wooden fruit basket viewed from above, my cuisine clock, an unfocused television command, a macro detail of a lamp.
All elements were transformed in color, by digital painting, by deformation, by geometric cuts and using outline techniques. In the final art collage, color changing and layering.
