Photo Composite Project for my work "The Walk In The Park " (2020)

For this work i used some photos of mine about an ancient Portuguese tile taken in Sintra, a modern wooden fruit basket viewed from above, my cuisine clock, an unfocused television command, a macro detail of a lamp.

All elements were transformed in color, by digital painting, by deformation, by geometric cuts and using outline techniques. In the final art collage, color changing and layering.

I started this project over 4 years ago and it has sat on a shelf. I figured it was time to finally put it back together and work on the decals a little.

While walking around Westport today I came upon these stairs and thought they'd make a nice subject for my project.

I added a dragonizer action and ran it through photomatix even though I only took one exposure.

Un salut de Toronto

On the whole, I both like and dislike this MOC. It’s unwieldy and delicate, of course. While building I found myself wondering if the whole scaffold thing would really make sense – after all, the Lunar Modules were “pure space” craft, and didn’t require enormous moment arms to turn themselves. But by that point I was committed, so I decided to see where it would take me.

This build was also a nice way to rekindle my love affair with flex tube. Though it also reminded me why we had to take some time to see other parts for a while.

It was great fun approaching a build from the conceptual standpoint of an engineer and the experience standpoint of a military operator. I’m just a little worried that I may have to keep going :)

"Texas Nebula"

I was running some errands this evening (dropping off photos from the edit last night, well at least I MEANT to drop them off... I left the disk on my desk... Doh!), stopping by Bob's to drop off my old D70 for his son and getting out of the house with my camera. As most of south east michigan knows, the sky was just spectacular before the approaching thunderstorms hit and I was sure glad I had my camera with me for this one. The texas shaped hole in the clouds was just streaming sunlight and the clouds above it were just so ominous. I have definitely amped up the colors here, but to good effect, at least I think so. This reminds me of the photos NASA will publish of other star systems; it is just so moody and I sure do love it.

Looks great in lightbox.

I did it...January is complete!!! One month down, eleven more to go!

Project 365 10/12/2017: Sunrise viewed from my workplace this morning - happy Thursday!

Claire has begun our project of painting the basement. The back room is full of stuff - we need to do a huge cleanout. But there's so much I don't want to get rid of!

This is an unfinished project I've been working back in the welcome home party days.

I wanted to post it and share it with you in a raw state because I would like to know your opinion about it.

a charity event benefiting Lexi Zelin • AngelRed Couture

Event Dates: July 26th - August 9th, 2015

The Lexi Project, a collaborative fund-raiser event founded by Toxxic Rhiannyr & Heather Smithson, created to bring SecondLife brands together in hopes to raise money for one of our own, Lexi Zelin / Owner of AngelRed Couture. As many have probably by now heard, Lexi has been diagnosed with Stage 3 Hodgkin's Lymphoma and is in desperate need of funds to assist in paying her medical bills / expenses as she is unable to work. Lexi is only 28 years old, mother of one beautiful little girl and plays an important role within SecondLife by creating high quality, full permission mesh apparel, paving the way for many people in the virtual world to have the freedom of opening a store.

The Lexi Project has grown to approximately 350 supporting brands, ranging in a vast number of fields from apparel, decor, full permission, poses, skin, hair and so much more. All of which can and will be found at this event and all on one region. We have received a HUGE response from the grid, many offering helping hands and services showing nothing but pure support to Lexi. We want everyone to know, it is all very much appreciated.

The Lexi Project is scheduled to open its doors on Sunday, July 26th @ midnight slt. Each brand participating will have a minimum of 1-2 new items, 100% of the proceeds from sales go directly to an event account, opened by Lexi Zelin.

If you're interested in how to donate, there are many options available to you. Lexi has started a Gofundme Account page, she is accepting direct Linden donations to her main account and has also made a donation kiosk that can be rezzed inworld. To obtain the donation kiosk, you can join the AngelRed Couture Group and find a copy inside Group Notices. Donation kiosks will also be available to accept lindens at the Lexi Project.

We thank you all for your support & speedy actions to this situation as all this information has developed rapidly over the course of the last week. Lexi is over the top appreciative to all that is going on around her, but is also very exhausted as she has been through several surgeries already and just received a port in her chest prepping her for chemo in the coming weeks. We do ask that you please respect her time online, if you see her, respect her privacy so she is able to rest with ease and not be bombarded by all that is happening. It's very overwhelming for her, as she did not expect this large of a response.

Thanks again so much from the bottom of our hearts, if you wish to share this blog or information it is welcomed and encouraged as we move forward to our opening day. Many people have inquired about what they can do to help aside from donations and we ask that you help keep the marketing drive alive on all social media outlets, inworld groups, popular blogs and so forth. The more people we can reach, the more we can bring in for Lexi & her family.

=Thank you=

72/365 - In The Colors - Ben Harper

Tough start of a new week. Bad results in several stupid tests at school lately and a lot of work to finish before intense days of practice tests next week. You see what I'm talking about ?

So after courses me and Loic had to made a new shot for the school project we've been working on all the weekend. The theme is "Do it as..." a (famous or not so) photographer.

The original feelings we had with this work were very great, we found we had to understand the style of a photographer and shot new pictures with this particular style. We also have to redact about this photographer, define his style and explain his pictures.

In fact, that's basically less interesting, we have to purely copy two pictures of a photographer like a xerox and describe "technically" the original pictures.

Whatever, it's been several weeks that I wanted to make a tribute to Dustin Diaz with this theme, cause he has been inspiring for me. But in the end, I was really unmotivated to just copy his work.

Don't think that's the better way to learn something...

I've been working on learning how Dustin does his pictures for few months to inspire my own ones and be able to shoot something decent for this theme.

Finally I decided to change and try some new things, I wanted to make fashion pictures outdoor with the spring feeling, I found great fashion pictures by Ted Grambeau, but that was not really what I wanted to do. I've shot some pics as Ted Grambeau this Sunday with Emmeline, but finally we ended with the Dustin like picture in the subway that I really liked.

With no fashion photographer name found, I decided to get back on my first idea, that's why we had to shot another one this Monday with Loic.

First we went to a lake outside Toulouse with Melissa and Florent where Loic wanted to shoot his theme picture. Found the place interesting and decided to go for a fashion shoot with Melissa for today's shot. After that, we went back to my place to pack the rest of the things we needed for my DD shot and we went to the center to find the right spot.

A lot of hard work. Hope you'll enjoy it cause we don't have that much sleep theese days...

Love to read your comments. Take care, see ya tomorrow.

Twice I've walked around town in the rain lately but the people in my town were not being at all co-operative when it came to witty and clever 2D things happening (I blame half-term ;) ) so this will have to do. I dunno .. a dog last week .. a cat this week ..
