My current photography project is on the local shop keepers of Horbury and their businesses. I have been taking images of the owners and colleagues in their premises. The focus is on the person with all their products in shot, showcasing their shop as it is on an average day. I started this because I think local independent shops are a part of what keeps small communities together. As I have spent time taking the photos I have come to see the good relationships the shop keepers have with the local public, how many of them are on first name terms and how much the local community supports the local shops and services.
I forced myself out for a walk this lunchtime. I went along the waterfront to the lock lock bridge hoping to get the rest of the clues for the geocache. Unfortunately, that side of the bridge was fenced off (for strengthening, I think).
On the way I spotted an oystercatcher getting a feed of some shellfish on the rocks. I only had my phone camera, not a proper camera so I couldn't get a decent picture.

This is the first picture in my 365 project.
I will be mainly using a Nikon D300s and Olympus XZ-1 to take my one-per-day photograph and will in all likelihood process in Snapseed.

полу-выходной день. небо красивое - голубое и с облаками.
иногда полезно смотреть просто вверх.
כמעט יום חופש. שמים יפים - כחולים עם עננים.
לפעמים זה ממש כיף סתם להסתכל למעלה.
Almost a day off. Beautiful sky - blue with clouds.
Sometimes it's really fun to just look up.
It's been raining. The paving bricks outside Wellington station look really cool.

lo so, lo so. dovrei tagliare i capelli. dovrei smetterla di dire che la chioma riccia piace alle donne. la smetto. questa non è una foto, è un adichiarazione di intenti.

Well this is as far as I have got up to yesterday evening. It seems to be taking ages although the photograph does not show all the work that has taken place.
It's bright in town but cold up on the hills. You can see the snow from my office window.

Easter is over, I'm back to work, and the first email I get from my boss is to let me know that the Fabric Warehouse has a pop up shop across the road from the office for the next two weeks with silks and woolens at $5 a metre and everything else at $3 per metre. You've got to like a boss like that. She makes all her own clothes and always looks fabulous.
I went over mid-afternoon and bought a few bits and will probably go back later in the week. I forgot to take a photo of the shop when I left (although I took several shots of fabric in there) so I took this on my way to the pub for the pub quiz.
