axeman has great items!

project allows users to project images from a computer on to a surface

My grandpa let my family borrow this and a box of film to watch old home made videos.

This is the great packaging that made Margaret pick up the Fortuna projector at some forgotten yard sale or flea market. I remember us laughing at the distortion of the projector being so much larger than the girl. (In truth it's about 4 inches tall.)

But I only rediscovered the magnificence of the slides themselves a little while ago, when I found this again in the attic.

Projector Estrella Prince Albert

Daedelus isn't a paint-by-numbers musician. From how he looks (early Victorian Dandyism), to how he makes music, or how he expresses himself and views the world, his is a very individual 'bespoke' outlook. When asked to envision his visit to Room 205, Daedelus decisively stated, "I would like to perform at a seance in a Victorian parlor accompanied by ghosts. Conjuring the music, so to speak."

BIO

Alfred Darlington was born in Santa Monica, CA in 1977 to an artist mother and professor father. Musical from very early on, as a child he was classically and jazz-trained in a number of instruments, but his interests were broad and varied - less a prodigy than a renaissance boy whose obsessions ranged from Greek legend to the mountains of Wales. As a 15-year old, whilst in a YWCA in London he flipped the radio dial, found a pirate radio station and taped some UK rave and hardcore. "It was my first 'Eureka!' moment in music," he says.

Remodeling has made it possible to stand far enough away to take pictures of both Simplex XL projectors and the one-of-a-kind film transport system.

My cousin's husband has quite the antique camera/projector collection. I photographed them for him while visiting. He may decide to sell them before they move next year. I'll be posting more over the next days/wks....this is just the beginning!

French 35mm projector from the early 20's. Uses special shutter disk on the side. Light source is also on the side. Light is reflected by a 45° miror through the lens. Works with a kind of beater movement.

My 8mm and 16mm projectors as shot with my Holga 120GN using 6 year past the expiry date 35mm Kodak film.

This is an image of a Toshiba TLPLW1 projector lamp. It's used in the following Toshiba projector models: TLP-T600U, TLP- T601U, TLP-T700U, TLP-T701U.

Found an old slide projector for $5. New light source!!

This projector used a high-intensity mercury-arc lamp developed by General Electric in the 1960s.

With a new lamp, the projected image was much whiter and brighter than ordinary incandescent lamps. These lamps, however, had a short lifetime (about 25 hours); the color balance would shift to purple as the lamp aged.

Once small xenon-arc lamps were perfected and adapted to 16mm projection, the Marc-300 system would gradually fall out of favor for the consistent performance and much longer lamp lifetime of xenon-arc lamps.
