The vessel has to load breakbulk cargo under deck but in order to reach it, the deck cargo which was loaded in Spain, first has to be discharged. It will then be re-loaded to be shipped to the Persian Gulf

The cases measure 17,44m x 6,72m x 6,96m and weigh over 244 metric tons and are destined for South Korea.

They were loaded using two 200 ton capacity Gottwald cranes working in tandem.

It is discharging, amongst others, two reactor vessels eacht measuring 43,34 meters in length with a largest diameter of 10,13m and weighing about 430 tons.

 

It sailed later the same day to the Dutch port of Sluiskil on the canal from Terneuzen to Ghent.

The vessel sailed from the Korean port of Masan on 23 April 2017 to arrive at Antwerp on 21 April 2017.

Loading two transformers from the inland waterways vessel "Simul Profecti" into the coaster "Wilson Rotterdam" (IMO 9557381)

The cargo originated in Nürnberg and was brought to Antwerp by the "Simuli Profecti". The "Wilson Rotterdam" will take the cargo to the Danish port of Esbjerg.

The transformers each weigh 199500kg and measure 7,40 x 3,80 x 5,10m.

The GPLN member Shipping.DK Spain project teams had transported a Herrenknecht tunnel boring machine from Kehl in Germany to Barcelona in Spain, totaling some 2240 cbm for the Girona AVE high speed train.

 

From Kehl to Rotterdam port cargo was transported by barge with direct operation of discharge and load into modern geared 400 ts vessel chartered specially for the occasion.

 

Pieces of 220 tons, 116 tons and various other cargos of an additional 90 tons, with the largest piece measuring 21 meters length and width exceeding 7 meters, were the more relevant pieces of the project.

 

"Several offices of the Shipping DK organization were involved in the project," said Mr. Santiago Fontecilla, Managing Director of Shipping.DK Spain, "The Fredericia office chartered the vessel while the Rotterdam office took the operations of transshipment and the Spanish offices of Bilbao and Barcelona arranged the discharge and all formalities with forwarding company awarded and involved in the project. The full operation was carried out successfully and well organized between all of our offices involved."

a large case that was discharged from an inland waterways vessel, is being driven to its place on the terminal awaiting its onward ocean transport

A 68756kg gas turbine measuring 12,00 x 4,70 x 5,30m being delivered by the barge Amicitia (ENI 2334537).

Eventually the turbine will continue its voyage to the Atyrau region in Kazakhstan.

The vessel is seen here arriving at the port of Antwerp with 3 second hand Gottwald cranes on deck. The vessel is on the last stretch of its trip from the Danish port of Frederikshavn to the Zuidnatie Terminal at the Churchill dock. There it will load a further two (brand new) Gottwald cranes.

The heavy lift vessel "Josef" (IMO 9467005) first worked at the Zuidnatie Terminal at the Albert dock. It then shifted berths to the ABES Terminal at the 5th Haven dock to pick up a heavy lift transformer.

As the cargo was moved into place, a fault was found so that is could not start its voyage. The vessel than shifted back to the Albert dock, possibly to wait for a solution on this cargo.

 

The mottled side of the vessel still shows an "H" and an "E" of its previous operator, the now defunct "Hansa Heavy Lift" who operated it as "HHL Congo"
