See that person in the corner there?
That's my little sister - younger than me by a mere 3 years but is like half a daughter to me. No matter where she is, she is always in the line of my sight. Always.
On the 20th April (her 18th birthday) I will share an up to date photo of her and tell you a little story.
But for now, I leave you with this thought: if you know my name, you will undoubtedly know hers too. And if you don't already (have you been living under a rock?!), you will..

I made her sit on the cold window sill for at least 20 minutes before letting her sleep haha.

A spot of cat sitting tonight.
These two often take a long time to emerge from their hidey holes, but some pouches of wet cat food seemed to speed things along a bit!
Get your rain boots, people! This is a view out of my classroom window at the detention pond. It is usually bone dry...hence the name detention pond. ANYWAY. We have had a ton of rain up in Gurnee and this water is just one of the signs. A grade school nearby is in danger of flooding. People started sandbagging today. Our fresh/soph campus wouldn't be far off, then. We have closed before because of flooding but the Des Plaines river is supposed to crest soon and go back down by Friday. It's just crazy to look outside my window and see all that water! I am so sick of rain!!!!!
From 0730 to 1600 Jose, a wonderful Dominican immigrant, works at 1015(address) as handyman, porter then from 1700 to 2200....
He works over here at 1035. In this capture he's explaining that during this heat wave,
you have to really soak the ground around the shrubs in front of the building. "It gets too hot..the ground" and the water doesn't reach the roots...it evaporates"....

Today in 1862, Abraham Lincoln issued the Emancipation Proclamation.
It's hard to believe that this actually happened less than 150 years ago in the US.
I am grateful that Abraham Lincoln was one of our presidents :)
iPhone photo alert! We were helping Jack move into his new apartment and we bought a large sofa and saved $75 on delivery by putting it on the roof of our car.
My son still loves playing Skyrim almost 2 years after playing for the first time. And as you can see, the guidebook gets a lot of use. I saw it lying on the floor today and thought it wouldn't look out of place in the actual game, lying on a table in a tavern somewhere.
