Claire made marvellous mmmuffins tonight. (That's an 80's/90's Toronto reference. Anyway, when Claire was working in Toronto, she would phone me at my office sometimes and say she bought and ate a mmmuffin and now she feels sick. Interesting story, right?)
The kitchen and dining room are a glorious mess after their Ugly Cake Decorating. Our county fair has an Ugly Cake contest which is an ongoing favorite around here. The kids choose a theme and go wild baking and decorating fantastical horrible cakes. This year they created a Toxic Undersea World and Toxic Dinosaur cake. *Update- both cakes won blue ribbons!
I really have come to enjoy my Tuesday morning men's bible study. You can count on Tom to be there and provide great insight.
This is not a photo of Claire and Violet with our Christmas tree. No, it's our second snow of the season. It should be gone soon enough because we have mid-40s temperatures most of the week.
Highly recommend getting one of these can strainers. They're great for draining the liquid from cans, but also handy when you don't want lemon seeds in your tea.

We had a long drive (~9 hours) and by the end of the day, I realized I hadn't taken a photo. Angela humored me with a quick pose.
Our traditional hike on the Tahoe Rim trail. Exploring the forest was more colorful because they stopped to see if Pokemon hid behind each tree. When they lost cell reception (quickly in the woods), they discussed ideas for forest Pokemon, their own creations that entertained them for ages.
Last night I discovered "The Godfather Epic," a film which presents "The Godfather" and "The Godfather: Part 2" in a different order and includes some scenes cut from the original films. Wow, great, and it's only 7 hours long, what can go wrong? Anywho, about halfway through I fell asleep and Leah woke me up at 12:40am, and the only photo I had was of a thunderstorm off in the distance on my phone. That's in the top left corner, and the rest is a Throwback Thursday to exactly 5 years ago (to the day) of Angela with a dancer pretzel she created. Yay!
This is the basket I use when I need a few things from the garden for dinner

We pulled off the fake shutters on the windows so the old green paint shows now. This is the wall on the inside of the screen room and I'm going to have a mural painted on it.

Claire picked up her race packet for tomorrow morning's triathlon, and they put numbers on her legs. I think it's a test to see who has a thorough shower the night before the race.
