Claire and I went for a walk at Hidden Valley in Washington, CT this morning. Sunny and warm - the high today is supposed to be 61 F. It almost feels like spring!
A birthday gift for Claire arrived a couple weeks early. Yes, I've brought another woman into the home: Alexa. She listens, but then sometimes acts like I don't know what the hell I'm talking about. She's very unrealistic in that way. (It's really cool, actually!)
All week Ian obsessed about a Marble Soda at the Chocolate Shoppe. The Marble Soda is a Japanese drink that has a marble in the neck of the bottle. You pop the marble down to drink and make it fizz (huge novelty). After the soda, of course they saw the ice cream. Since it was Friday and I was in a generous mood, I let them binge on sugary treats. I asked why he ate the ice cream from the side of his mouth. He said it was “too cold” for the teeth in front. Probably because they are newly grown and sensitive. Which meant he was pretty much covered in ice cream. This was the first time he ordered a cone instead of a cup. He felt brave. A big kid not afraid of tipping the scoop onto the ground.
Saturday morning's snow. (As of Sunday morning, there is still a lot of snow on the ground, but it is a rainy mess.)
At 10am at my house, my hubby's still in bed & the two cats are in the bedroom with him. One on the bed, one over by the window. Me? I've already walked 4 miles around my neighborhood
