{Project 365/50}

We visited The hide at Wilstone Reservoir for the first time in years. Not too many unusual birds about, but I managed to sneak a crafty shot of Derek who was sitting next to us and proved to be an knowledgable and interesting neighbour

This week I attempted to perform my light writing outside. The area I wanted to use was taken up by a bunch of kids, so I picked somewhere else. With this, I was able to get the room I needed and in some cases was also able to extend my shutter speed. The main issue I'm running into is the use of my flashlight on my camera/led stick and me not being fluent writing backwards. I'm going to go to my storage unit and get one of my flashlights and practice at home writing normal and see if I can just flip the orientation in lightroom. The area was lit but it wasn't distracting as you can see. I feel if I can get this to work then I should have no problem in accomplishing my project the way I want to.

So Coraline thinks she's getting fat... can you believe that??? Look how desperate she is, thinking if she eats that huge cupcake!!!

Então, Coraline cismou que tá ficando gorda... dá pra acreditar nisso??? Olha o desespero dela pensando se come ou não esse enorme cupcake!!!

The Eden Project is a visitor attraction in Cornwall, England, United Kingdom. Inside the artificial biodomes are plants that are collected from all around the world.

The project is located in a reclaimed Kaolinite pit, the complex is dominated by two huge enclosures consisting of adjoining domes that house thousands of plant species. The domes consist of hundreds of hexagonal and pentagonal, inflated, plastic cells supported by steel frames. The first dome simulates a tropical environment, and the second a Mediterranean environment.

The Cathedral of St. Mary The interior is a bit of a hodgepodge: the alternating pillars and columns on either side of the lofty nave survive from the original construction, while the impressive dome and creamy marble central altar date from the eighteenth century, and the lateral chapels are predominantly Neoclassical or Baroque. Behind the altar, an ambulatory said to derive architecturally from the Islamic mosque of the old Moorish city (and recalling similar designs in cathedrals at Salamanca and Segovia) gives onto five radiating chapels, also part of the original building. The left transept holds the well-executed marble funerary monument of the Savoy Duke of Monferrato, brother of King Carlo Felice, dated 1799. Elsewhere the flaking walls show the need of a long overdue restoration.

This restoration was being undergone when I was there so it was difficult to try to walk around scaffolding!

Ballerina Project

I think he didnt like my camera, coz he was smiling few minutes back, till i took it out and snapped.

I met Rahees Ahmed, while i was taking a walk(, to nowhere actually). He was just kiiling the engine when i walked passed him.its after few more trucks , i stopped and realised, i had just seen my next stanger.by that time he had come down.and knew i was upto something.

He basically hails from the State Of UP.and my next silly question became almost obvious with his answer.question being , So , Ahmed ji, how do u like Bombay?

and he says, I've stayed in bombay since 1971.May be i should be asking you this;)

And now that i look back at this snap, i think i should've asked him a much sensible question , for example that 'mala', the flower string, thing behind him in front of his truck. what was the reason he put it up there?

[NOTE : I know i shouldve reduced the ISO here, but i was in such a rush, not to waste his time, i barley thought about that.]

Some college project or other required me to raid my local synagogue for antiquities and make a nice picture that could go on a book, hence the black space to the left that might contain some waffle suited to such a book. This image was taken on a 5x4 camera.

Cooking almond pancakes. These are delicious served with heated plums. I first made them last week and could not find a way to cook them without them sticking to my pan. Then I tried putting baking paper on the pan - success!

Project 50 Challenge 46/50

I thought I'd experiment a little with a long exposure. What do you think?

from stripping hideous wallpaper (which was a ton of work) to painting after drywall mud had been laid over the lathe and plaster, this was a tedious project, but the results are gorgeous!!!

Sci Formal is an event put on annually by the graduating class of Queen's University's Faculty of Applied Science & Engineering. Engineering students design the layout of the interior of Grant Hall and various rooms in Kingston Hall around a theme, and make structures and construct entire floors and levels to customize the space. This year's theme is Great Cities of the World.

Open House is November 5th from noon to 4 for all interested in the Kingston area.

Eden Project - Mediterranean Biome, Blackbird.

My trip to Uganda, Africa 2011 - I'm SO incredibly late with this upload batch. I completely blanked on putting these up... Agh.

Anyways, I stayed in Uganda for a month, living in an apartment on site of the orphanage. This was my third year... and it was amazing. My volunteer work consisted of helping to construct a volleyball court for a youth ministry, painting murals in new rooms at the orphanage, and my personal project - creating sponsorship profiles for the kids who need their basic living expenses covered. Did you know you can sponsor a kid for only $35 a month - and provide them with food, an education, clothes, and a place to live? www.childrensheritagefoundation.org/third/chspon.php

Please check out my blog to read more about my trip at thelifeofmaddierose.tumblr.com.

I am so blessed to have been three years in a row at my young age of 17. Although I go to Uganda to help, I end up being changed in return. And I hope that these reflections of my experiences will change you too.
