Federal Highways Administrator Victor Mendez speaks about the I-40/77 project with Secretary Gene Conti (l) and N.C. Board of Transportation Chairman Robert Collier.
This was a request from a lady, she included bits of fabric from family and friends. Really not my normal choice of fabric, so I did struggle a bit with it. All the hearts are appliquéd a process I rather enjoy. Its one more project I can tick off my to complete list, and rag quilts are very forgiving and a lot of fun.
When I started the Brighton Pub Project, this pub was called the Kings Arms. It's opposite the Quens Arms on George Street, and there was a bit of a King / Queen thing going on with the names. But this is Brighton, and nothing stays the same for too long, so now it's called Project 56. I don't know about you, but I go to a Pub normall. Sometimes I go to a bar for a drink. I never go to a Project for a drink though.
Project Impact is a youth event where they go around to homes in our area and help under priveledged or elderly residences out with painting, yard work etc.
This is a mailer that will be sent out to all the youth at the church.
Comments and suggestions appreciated.

I have a tendency to over-react from time to time. My resolution this year is to make sure I'm being proactive and not reactive. In essence, I'm going to try really hard not to cry over spilt milk.

This is my entry in the Project Quilting Off Season Challenge - Catalog It! Your inspiration was to be from an ad.
I was inspired by clothes ads. Many times we thumb thru' catalogs and order clothes. Then they come in the mail and they don't fit us correctly. They just hang in our closets. Since this has happened to just about everyone I know, I decided we could all relate!
I was inspired to create a quilt from an unusable clothing item --- a denim shirt that didn't fit me!
I posted about each part of the process on my blog: marciascraftysewing.blogspot.com/

These jars of candy were gifted to myself and a few friends. Ignore the names on the tags, they're just little nicknames for us.

The Troublemakers Film Project is a new initiative that brings young LGBT2Q+ filmmakers together to create a series of mini-documentary portraits on change-making seniors. A partnership with Vancouver Queer Film Festival & Out in Schools and made possible by the BC Arts Council!
My daughter was fascinated by the live video projection I was experimenting with. I saw this moment and pressed the shutter. It wasn't exactly planned but came out surprisingly well.

For more information on, or to join The Crisis Project, visit: www.crisisproject.com
The Crisis Project was named after the interpretation of the definitions of the word Crisis:
“A stage in a sequence of events at which the trend of all future events, esp. for better or for worse, is determined; turning point. “
“A condition of instability, or danger, as in a social, economic, political, or international affairs, leading to decisive change.”
“A dramatic emotional or circumstantial upheaval in a person’s or people’s existence.”
The goal of The Crisis Project is to alter people’s perception of ‘the suburbs’, while both encouraging artists to use the public space as their canvass, and to create a sense of fear within the affected communities for those who don’t understand.
The Suburbs have the undeniable connotation of: “white picket fences, and safe community living for all.” Those who live here by choice do so to: either escape the negative aspects of city dwelling, or to move out of the country in search of a more connected lifestyle. Those who are born here, who grow up in ‘Suburbia’ don’t see their surroundings as an escape, but as a prison of town parks and strip malls.
Excluding illuminated store sings and the odd billboard, the suburbs are devoid of any visual stimulation, exactly what property owners want, and expect. But this existence, compounded with the many destructive aspects of the suburban youth lifestyle, only intensifies the angst against the powers that be, by starving creativity.
The Crisis Project is the initial attack on the habituated suburban lifestyle, which hopes to both bring together suburban youth to inspire art and creativity, and to initiate the waves of change against the clean walls, and municipal supremacy.

#121 of 365 Daily Drawings
Inspiration: I found myself baby-sitting my 3 year old niece for the day
Result: Lily napping
Materials: Pentel 0.3 HB, Copic MultiLiner SP 0.03, Platinum Carbon Fountain Pen in a Stillman & Birn Gamma series sketchbook ( 21.6 cm 27.9 cm / 8 1/2" x 11")
Location: Home
Note: My niece was feeling under the weather and couldn't attend preschool. The little sweetie spent most of the day napping in a sunny room on the couch beside me as I read. I took the opportunity to practice ...
The Copic 0.03 is definitely too small to use outside smooth papers like that of the Epsilon series as the very fine tip catches too much and I'm sure would decrease the life span of the pen. Having said that the Gamma, like the Alpha series from Stillman & Birn take to the fountain pen very well but for my heavily lined work I will stick to the Epsilon and soon to be released Zeta series. I am hopeful that at some point this company will also introduce a smooth surfaced ivory paper for ink. It would be interesting to draw in sepia on ivory....
ANYway I am now officially 1/3 of the way through my year long project!
Coco vanishes for 5 minutes and this is the result.
God damn dog.
