The Seabiscuit program took place on August 2003 at Countryside.
Seabiscuit's former jockey lives locally and he described the world of thoroughbred racing in the 1930s when Seabiscuit was the “all-star” of all time. He shared a scrapbook filled with his racing career highlights and shared many memories. The library was filled to capacity that day.
La directora de Prosperidad Social, Tatyana Orozco de la Cruz y el alcalde de Medellín, Federico Gutiérrez entregaron a 100 participantes del programa de emprendimiento “Mi Negocio”, maquinaria, herramientas e insumos para población vulnerable y víctima de la violencia para fortalecer sus negocios en confecciones, comidas rápidas, salas de internet y tiendas.
La directora Tatyana Orozco, señaló que “los insumos entregados, tienen como objetivo fortalecer las iniciativas productivas que han venido desarrollando estos colombianos. Estas entregas tienen una inversión total de $150 millones, cada emprendedor recibirá $1.500.000”.
Prosperidad Social está atendiendo en el Departamento de Antioquia cerca de 1.316 emprendedores, distribuidos así: 89 Amagá, 143 Bello, 52 Envigado 137 Itagüí y 895 en Medellín. Los activos que les son entregados les sirven para trabajar en sus tiendas de barrio, confecciones, cacharrerías, salas de internet, restaurantes, negocios de procesamiento de alimentos y servicios de jardinería.
A la fecha se han realizado 31 entregas por valor de $46 millones en la región. Al final de marzo, terminaremos las entregas del programa en el Departamento de Antioquia para llegar a una Inversión de $4.090 millones.
Desde el 2011, Prosperidad Social ha invertido más de $140 mil millones con los Programas de Emprendimiento, para fortalecer proyectos productivos de población vulnerable en las zonas urbanas del país.
