Old Ambergate Carnival picture - not mine. Possibly from the 80s (I think)

Page from the theatre programme for a production of "Miss Hook of Holland" at the Hippodrome Theatre, Keighley, staged by Keighley Amateur Operatic and Dramatic Society in May 1927. This page includes a cast list.

The story takes place in the old world Dutch village of Arndyke. The popularity of widower Mr. Hook (played by Arthur B. Hird), who is effectively the head of the village, stems from his distillery's production of a particular liqueur, the recipe for which was created by his daughter Sally (Edith Robson). On his birthday, Mr. Hook loses the recipe and it is found by ne'er-do-well Simon Slinks (John Pickles) who then hopes for some reward. Sally, meanwhile, is the object of desire for both wholesome Bandmaster Van Vuyt (Tom Culbert) and the unsavoury Captain Adrian Paap of the Mounted Artillery (John Crabtree). The usual mix of complications and misunderstandings follow before the recipe is safely returned and wedding bells ring for Sally and Van Vuyt.

Other members of the cast included Alan Petty, Fred Carr, Emilie Chapman, Mrs. David Richardson, Peggy Eaton, Elsie Pickles and Evie Carr. The dancing mistress was Lorna Brett. The stage band consisted on members of the Keighley Borough Brass Band. Scenery was provided by Herbert Oldroyd of Batley.

The 36-page programme was printed by The Keighley Printers Ltd. of High Street, Keighley. The programme was part of an anonymous donation made in 2022.
