Front cover from the theatre programme for a production of Noel Coward's "Star Quality", adapted by Christopher Luscombe, staged by Keighley Playhouse in December 2004.
Keighley Playhouse's production of "Star Quality" was performed at the Playhouse from Monday 13th to Saturday 18th December 2004. The director was Michael Kennedy.
The play is set in the summer of 1951 and the story revolves around fading stage actress Lorraine Barrie (played by Barbara Boothroyd). She is offered a new play but accepts only on the condition that the rest of the cast are inferior, making her appear better than she actually is. But dynamic new director Ray Malcolm (Kevin Moore) has other ideas and plans to bring Lorraine down a peg or two in order, ultimately, to extract a spell binding performance from her.
Other members of the cast included Mark Rundle, Chris Stocks, Mavis Walsh, Stuart Farrell, Barbara Lowens, John Greenwood, Chris Todd, Irene Savu, Ian Miller, Stewart Ogden and Emma McClean, with Bothwell the dog played by Cyndi the dog.
The 16-page programme, printed by Kay Jay Print of Cross Hills, is part of the Christine Broadley Collection, donated by Christine in 2024.
