World Chambers Congress Day 3: Business Programme

Keighley Amateur Operatic and Dramatic Society's production of "Utopia Ltd." played at the Hippodrome Theatre in Keighley for six nights (and a Saturday matinee) from Monday 1st to Saturday 6th December 1924. The comic opera was written by W. S. Gilbert and Arthur Sullivan. The KAODS production was produced by Edwin Bryan, with musical director Joseph Harker.

 

The 42-page programme was printed by The Keighley Printers Ltd. of High Street, Keighley. It measures approximately 185mm by 250mm. The programme was part of an anonymous donation given in 2022.

Page from the theatre programme for a production of the musical 'The Merry Widow' at the Ritz Cinema, Keighley, staged by Keighley Amateur Operatic and Dramatic Society in October 1960. This page includes an advert for the society's Annual Dance, to be held in the Municipal Hall on Thursday 3rd November 1960, music provided by the Ambassadors Dance Orchestra. There is also a newspaper clipping glued into the page featuring a photograph of cast members Janet Chadwick (Olga), Johnny O'Connell (Pritsch), Peter J. Wild (Bogdanovitch) and Frank Hopkinson (Njegus) (taken from the Keighley News of 1st October 1960).

 

The programme is part of the Joy Rundle Collection, donated by Jane Eaman and Mark Rundle in 2023.
