Curated by longtime Ceramics Program instructor and staff member Crystal Ribich, this invitational exhibition celebrates the long tradition of artists coming together in groups large and small to fire their work in salt, soda and/or wood and the friendships forged through this method of working.

The American Red Cross of Greater Chicago presented a program on Water Safety to the kindergarten classes at Prairie Crossing Charter School in Grayslake, IL, on May 6, 2009. The interactive program includes instruction on various elements of safety around water, whether swimming or playing around the ocean, lakes or backyard pools and features the program's mascot, Longfellow the Whale. The program is available to schools in the Chicagoland region and is part of the Red Cross's education and enlightenment efforts in promoting family safety through preparedness. Brighter Bites is a collaborative effort designed to improve access to healthy, affordable food and provide nutrition education. The University of Texas School of Public Health, KIPP Schools, the Houston Food Bank and Texas Children's Hospital have partnered to offer the 16-week program to third-grade children enrolled at KIPP Explore Academy and their parents. As you can see from the photos, those healthy kale smoothies are a hit!

First Lady of Virginia Pamela Northam joins Maj. Gen. Timothy P. Williams, the Adjutant General of Virginia, in honoring Virginia National Guard volunteers at the 2018 Virginia National Guard State Volunteer Recognition and Training Workshop April 15, 2018, in Williamsburg, Virginia. The annual two-day event recognizes and thanks volunteers for their efforts in support of family programs and includes training and information sessions on a variety of topics.
