O Programa VidAtiva do Governo Estadual, contemplou na manhã desta quinta-feira (23) o município de Catanduva, com 77 cartões do projeto, entregues pela SELJ - Secretaria de Esporte, Lazer e Juventude do Estado de São Paulo.
O programa incentiva a prática de exercícios físicos entre idosos de baixa renda com mais de 60 anos, oferecendo aos beneficiados R$ 57 mensais a serem utilizados em academias credenciadas pela SELJ. Idosos com receita médica indicando atividades físicas e com renda igual ou inferior a três salários mínimos têm prioridade.
A solenidade ocorreu na Associação Comercial e Industrial de Catanduva e contou com a presença do Secretário Estadual, Jean Madeira, prefeito, vereadores, secretários municipais e autoridades da região.
O Secretário foi recebido pelo Presidente da ACE – Associação Comercial e Empresarial de Catanduva, Alex Tomazini, pelo vereador Julinho Ramos, pelo Secretário de Esporte, Lazer e Turismo, Ederaldo Jean Bertozzi, acompanhado pelo diretor da DREL – Delegacia Regional de Esporte e Lazer de São José do Rio Preto, José Roberto de Souza e prefeitos da região, para uma breve reunião.
“É uma alegria, uma satisfação para nós, é um ganho para o município de Catanduva, para a população, para a terceira idade. Eu venho acompanhando o trabalho da SELJ, do secretário através das redes sociais, nunca ví um secretário tão ativo. Tenho visto a otimização de recursos da Secretaria e da DREL, para ajudar a quem mais precisa e temos a seguinte opinião: Quando se gasta um real com esporte, economiza dois reais em saúde e dois reais em educação, esporte é disciplina, é prevenção”, concluiu o Vereador Juninho Ramos.
Para o Secretário de Esporte, Lazer e Turismo, Ederaldo Jean Bertozzi, “É um prazer ter o município de Catanduva incluso no Programa VidAtiva. Ficamos felizes em saber que o SELJ está ampliando seus horizontes e chegando até as pessoas mais carentes, aos mais necessitados, e até os idosos”.
Após o término o Secretário Estadual, Jean Madeira, reuniu-se com o Prefeito Municipal de Catanduva, Geraldo Vinholi, no paço municipal para uma rápida reunião. O Prefeito agradeceu a presença do Secretário e a contemplação de Catanduva pelo Programa VidAtiva, colocando o município a disposição do Estado.

On September 23 and 24, 2017, students from various AGNR programs including the IAA geared up for our "INAG199D: Tractor Operation, Maintenance, and Safety" course.
Students earned one credit for their participation in the two-day course, which was held at the Central Maryland Research and Education Center in Upper Marlboro. There was something for everyone to master, whether this was their first exposure to tractors or they grew up driving them.

The Forest is located in the Central Basin of Tennessee in the southern part of Wilson County. The forest is approximately 15 miles east of Nashville. This forest originated from the Resettlement Administration Program in 1935. Tenn. Dept. of Agriculture, Forestry Division assumed responsibility for the Forest in 1955. Before purchase by the Resettlement Administration, numerous landowners with small acreage held the land. Land use was for row crops, pasture, and forests. The farmland was impoverished by erosion and the forestland was heavily cut, burned over, and damaged by grazing. The forest is of Natural Heritage significance because it is part of the largest contiguous cedar glade-barren complex in public ownership in middle Tennessee. About 14% of the area is designated a Tennessee Natural Resource Area and contains at least two threatened or endangered plant species. The forest contains a Natural Area (1,034 acres), a state park (831 acres), several in-holdings (304 acres), 6 cemeteries, and 1 cave. The majority (85%) of the area is classified as forestland. Eastern red cedar is the predominant species and is found in pure stands on the very poor soils. On deeper soils and better sites it is found mixed in with hardwoods. No timber harvest activities have occurred, presently, on the forest. The exception is a few salvage cuts as a result of pine mortality from the southern pine beetle. The forest has been highly degraded and eroded by high Off Highway Vehicle use. As a result, OHVs have been prohibited, resulting in management and enforcement challenges for TDOA, FD. Hunting has been and continues to be a traditional use of the forest.
