The United States Air Force Band String Quartet held a special concert on May 8, 2016 for His Majesty King Norodom Sihamoni, Her Majesty Queen Mother Norodom Monineath Sihanouk, and other invited guests to commemorate a performance that took place on May 9, 1956 in Phnom Penh at the invitation of the late King Norodom Suramarit and Queen Sisowath Monivong Kossomak Nearireath Serei Watana.
Joined by two Cambodian artists, The United States Air Force Band String Quartet played a mix of American, European, and Cambodian music, including two pieces by King Sihanouk that premiered in 1956.
The musicians concluded the 60th Anniversary Concert with a special birthday message for HM King Norodom Sihamoni and a heart-warming encore performance of "Monika" in honor of HM Queen Mother Norodom Monineath Sihanouk.

El Gimnasio de la Corporación Municipal Viña del Mar para el Desarrollo Social, fue la estación donde hizo su décima parada la “Zumba Tour Viña, Llevamos la Fiesta a Tu Sector”.
En el evento -organizado por la el municipio local, a través de la Casa del Deporte- participaron más de 200 personas las que recibieron el saludo de la alcaldesa Virginia Reginato quien llegó hasta el citado recinto deportivo para compartir con los asistentes.
La “Zumba Tour Viña, Llevamos la Fiesta a Tu Sector”, se encuentra recorriendo diversos puntos de Viña del Mar, teniendo programa su próxima parada el 22 del presente en el Gimnasio del Complejo Deportivo Municipal Forestal

En gira de trabajo por Izúcar de Matamoros, Atlixco, San Pedro Cholula y San Miguel Xoxtla, el Gobernador Rafael Moreno Valle entregó e inició la construcción de espacios que representan una inversión superior a los 33 millones de pesos como parte del programa de rehabilitación y ampliación de la infraestructura educativa que realiza su administración. Moreno Valle manifestó que los Centros Escolares son una contribución de Puebla para México. Un modelo innovador con más de seis décadas de vida en el que hoy se da el siguiente paso. Con la rehabilitación y construcción de Centros de educación a distancia, abundó, los niños que ingresan desde preescolar, ahora podrán dar continuidad a su formación académica hasta obtener un título profesional de la UNAM o de la BUAP, dijo. El Ejecutivo poblano colocó la primera piedra para el inicio formal de los trabajos de rehabilitación del Centro Escolar Licenciado Miguel Alemán y la construcción de un Centro de Educación a Distancia en San Pedro Cholula, que se realizará con una inversión de casi 16 millones de pesos y quedará concluida antes del término del primer semestre del año. Indicó que en el caso de los Centros Escolares su administración aporta dos terceras partes y los municipios el resto, aunque subrayó, en este caso los padres de familia aportarán 500 mil pesos. Esto es algo que no se ve en todos lados, precisó. Moreno Valle señaló que en lo que va de su gestión, las administraciones estatal y municipal han invertido en conjunto 40 millones de pesos en mejorar y ampliar la infraestructura educativa de San Pedro Cholula. En San Miguel Xoxtla, el Gobernador Moreno Valle inició la construcción de un Centro de Desarrollo Infantil (CENDI), y refrendó su compromiso con la educación en todos sus niveles y su decisión de servir a los poblanos sin distingos. De igual forma aseguró que hay un antes y un después para Puebla. Hoy, se recuperó la confianza que habían perdido los inversionistas y se tienen avances sin precedente en salud, educación y otros rubros, con lo que se está devolviendo al estado el lugar que le corresponde a nivel nacional e internacional. Moreno Valle destacó que la inversión para construir este Centro de 11 millones de pesos, no la hubiera ejercido el Ayuntamiento que recibe recursos del Ramo 33 por 7.5 millones de pesos, de ahí la importancia del trabajo conjunto entre gobiernos estatal y municipal. “Para esto no existen colores partidistas, soy el gobernador de todos los poblanos y tener este alto honor, debo corresponderlo con obras y acciones como esta”, enfatizó. En Atlixco, el Mandatario estatal entregó espacios educativos con un costo superior a los tres millones de pesos. Ahí señaló que hoy más que nunca las nuevas generaciones tienen que estar mejor preparadas. Moreno Valle puso en servicio en el Colegio de Bachilleres número 28 un laboratorio multifuncional, que tuvo una inversión de un millón 285 mil pesos, y en la secundaria técnica 104, cuatro aulas didácticas, donde se erogaron 2 millones 25 mil pesos. Advirtió que la opción de ir a los Estados Unidos a trabajar ya no es la mejor, porque ahora, particularmente en Puebla, hay óptimas perspectivas de crecimiento económico El Ejecutivo añadió que sólo con una excelente preparación, podrán aprovecharse oportunidades en las nuevas industrias del ramo automotriz y en el sector turístico, entre otras. En Izúcar de Matamoros, en compañía del presidente municipal Carlos Ramírez Gordillo, entregó espacios educativos en la Primaria Niños Héroes de Chapultepec que se erigieron con una inversión de 3 millones 86 mil pesos, bajo el esquema peso a peso. Moreno Valle destacó que en el presente año su administración y el ayuntamiento de Izúcar de Matamoros invertirán 12 millones de pesos en infraestructura educativa, lo que equivale a la misma cantidad ejercida en los dos años previos entre ambos gobiernos en el mismo rubro. Destacó la trascendencia de la suma de esfuerzos y recursos entre los ayuntamientos poblanos y el gobierno estatal para la realización de obras de alto impacto social que se traduzcan en mejores expectativas de vida y desarrollo de la población. Comentó que la nueva unidad cuenta con un aula digital que permitirá que los educandos del plantel tengan acceso a las nuevas tecnologías.

On April 22, 14 girls and two coaches from Brazil who are a part of "Las Estrellas," a sports, leadership and English program, came to Knoxville, TN as part of the U.S. Department of State Empowering Women and Girls through Sports Initiative. After the first day, they had already experienced University culture by participating in Dr. Ashleigh Huffman's Service-Learning class and eating in the cafeteria.
