The CSG Community came together for Thanksgiving on Tuesday, Nov. 25. The program featured musical performances from all four divisions and remarks from Head of School Jennifer Ciccarelli and Student Speaker Aisha Iftikhar '15.

At Sean's encouragement, here's something that's in process that I don't like at all. After spending way too many non-billable hours trying to resolve my unhappiness on my own, I'm posting it here (which I should have done last week).

The church is doing a 6-week series called "All Aboard" about unity and momentum and commitment and adventure. The imagery is that of an old steam engine and passenger car. We want to make the program/bulletin look like an old train ticket. What I've got so far looks more "stage coach" than train ticket. Where am I going wrong?

I've selected a manila construction paper. It has a mottled look and fuzzy feeling, so I think we're communicating vintage through the tactile. They will be printed in-house on a color laser. They're not up for cutting them all down to achieve a full bleed, so they need at least a 1/4" margin.

The font used in the on-screen imagery is Century Schoolbook. Their brand font is Franklin Gothic family. Those are the two that are used here.

Help me take this all the way!

Leadership Development Program Online – The Benefits

When you hire a new supervisor, it is important to review the benefits of having them complete a leadership development program online, such as 14 Vital Supervision Skills. These programs allow new supervisors to have the convenience of completing the training at their own pace—within reason, of course. Supervisors will also have the opportunity to review the training modules any time they need a reminder on the finer points of management, or they can refer to it if they are not sure how to handle a particular situation. An extensive training program will also help your supervisors be more productive right from the beginning.

It is hard to retain information when you feel rushed, but supervisors who complete a Leadership Training Development Programs Online or Website can do so at their own speed. However, time is of the essence in any business, and that is why each training module in the 14 Vital Supervision Skills program is presented in about six to eight minutes. The modules are intense and focus on the most important elements of being a supervisor. This program stands out above all the rest because it delivers the most effective training in the shortest amount of time, so companies will save money on training costs in the long run.

Information overload is not an uncommon affliction of new employees, and new supervisors are no exception. There is a great deal of information to retain from a Leadership Training Programs Online or Website, and fortunately, the 14 Vital Supervision Skills program makes it easy for supervisors to review the training modules anytime as long as you have uploaded them to your website. It is also difficult to cover every possible situation that could come up during training, so supervisors can also use the modules as a reference if a tough problem comes up. Even if the specific issue is not addressed, supervisors can still easily get advice on how to handle a similar problem.

An effective leadership development program online will help your supervisors be more productive right from the time they step into their new position, too. The more productive your supervisors are, the more effective your employees will be. This is why the 14 Vital Supervision Skills program is so beneficial to training regimens everywhere. Our product presents the right information in the format you need to keep things running smoothly during your new supervisor’s transition into their new job. When you need to present employees with the best information available online, on DVD, or via PowerPoint presentation, think of 14 Vital Supervision Skills!

As imagens a seguir mostram algumas dessas atividades.

The Fall 2010 Student Hackathon brought in hundreds of students from 30 universities to NYU's Courant Institute for 24 hours of creative hacking on New York City startups' APIs.

Selected startups presented their technologies at the beginning of the event, and students formed groups to brainstorm and begin coding on their ideas. Many students worked into the night, foregoing sleep to fulfill their visions.

On Sunday afternoon students presented their projects to an audience including a judging panel, which selected the final winners.

hackNY hosts hackathons one each semester, as well as a Summer Fellows Program, which pairs quantitative and computational students with startups which can demonstrate a strong mentoring environment, a problem for a student to work on, a person to mentor them, and a place for them to work. Startups selected to host a student are expected to compensate student Fellows. Students enjoy free housing together and a pedagogical lecture series to introduce them to the ins and outs of joining and founding a startup.

4 March 2014. Tawilla: Women use fuel-efficient stoves to cook their meals in the Rwanda camp for internally displaced people (IDP) in Tawila, North Darfur.

More than 8,000 women from the camp are the beneficiaries of the Safe Access to Firewood and Alternative Energy (SAFE) project, run by the World Food Programme (WFP). Since 2011, displaced women receive training on how to make fuel-efficient stoves and fire briquettes from saw dust and dried leaves and household waste. WFP's SAFE project offers a safer, cheaper and greener way to cook food and also helps women to generate income through selling the stoves in the market.

More than 8,000 women and children living in the camp benefit from two nutrition programs run by the World Food Programme (WFP) in the camp. One is Targeted Supplementary Feeding Programme, which is designed to treat moderate acute malnutrition among children under the age of five and pregnant and nursing women. The other is Integrated Blanket Supplementary Feeding Programme meant to prevent malnutrition among children under the age of three. Through both programs, women learn to prepare highly nutritious food by combining corn soya blend with sugar and oil or by using local ingredients such as lentils and cereals. The women also learn basic child care practices that prevent infection and sickness among their children.

PRINCESS PROTECTION PROGRAM - Disney Channel's sweet and lovely movie about friendship between two girls: Carter, an ordinary American town girl, and Rosalinda (later known as Rosie), a princess of a small country. When Rosie's tiny country is invaded by a dictator, the young Princess is rescued by Carter's father, Joe Mason, a secret service man from the Princess Protection Program. Under the protection of agent Joe Mason, Rosie is whisked away to rural Wisconsin to live with Carter as her cousin. There, Rosie must learn the ins and outs of behaving like a normal American teenager to protect herself. The two girls live and study together and have something fun. They help each other in daily life. Carter teaches Rosalinda how to behave like a normal student, how to eat Hamburg like others do, and how to get rid of Rosie's princess airs. Instead, Rosie help Carter to find her inner "princess" – self-confidence. They soon become the most popular "princess" in the school and Rosalinda is finally elected to be the Festival Queen. Meanwhile, Carter, Carter's father and Rosie's royal private fashion designer corporately rescue the Princess Rosalinda with wisdom, and help her return her country to throne in the end.
