DISNEY ON ICE PRESENTA MUNDOS FANTÁSTICOS
EL SHOW CONTARÁ CON LA PARTICIPACIÓN ESPECIAL DE “EL RAYO” MCQUEENY SU MEJOR AMIGO MATE DE CARS DE DISNEY Y PIXAR
Del 05 al 09 de febrero en el Palacio de los Deportes de la Ciudad de México ¡Disney On Ice presenta Mundos Fantásticos! ofrecerá un espectáculo sobre hielo lleno de acción con cuatro divertidas historias de Disney, y mostrará a los queridos personajes de CARS y TOY STORY 3, de Disney y Pixar, y de LA SIRENITA de Disney, junto a Mickey, Minnie, Donald y Goofy. Las estrellas de FROZEN de Disney también acompañarán a estos adorables personajes. Producido por Feld Entertainment, los boletos para Mundos Fantásticos para las funciones en el Palacio de los Deportes estarán disponibles en las taquillas del inmueble y el Sistema Ticketmaster a partir del próximo 2 de diciembre.
Los personajes de tamaño real de CARS de Disney y Pixar: “El Rayo” McQueen, Mate y sus amigos, llevarán sus personalidades de alto octanaje a la pista de hielo ambientada en Radiador Springs, a través de animatrónicos de alta tecnología hechos a la medida, cuyos ojos y bocas se mueven con cada vuelta sobre la autopista congelada. Mate se luce con graciosas ocurrencias mientras el resto de los personajes llegan al hielo con giros y mucha diversión.
“Mundos Fantásticos conecta las historias clásicas y nuevas de Disney”, dijo el Productor Kenneth Feld. “El público quedará impresionado en Radiador Springs al encontrarse con el inolvidable equipo de los carros animados, construidos a escala y en vivo sobre hielo. Verán sus historias favoritas de todos los tiempos como LA SIRENITA de Disney y TOY STORY 3 de Disney y Pixar, y descubrirán una historia llena de acción, magia e inolvidables personajes con FROZEN de Disney”.
El público entrará en el fantástico mundo de Arendelle con las hermanas de la realeza Anna y Elsa de la película animada ganadora al Premio de la Academia® FROZEN: UNA AVENTURA CONGELADA de Walt Disney Animation Studios. Anna, una chica con un corazón extraordinario, se embarca en un épico viaje con el divertidísimo muñeco de nieve Olaf y el fornido hombre de la montaña, Kristoff para encontrar a su hermana, la mágica Elsa, cuyos poderes han atrapado el reino de Arendelle en un eterno invierno.
“Nuestra recreación de Arendelle y el esplendor visual sobre el hielo proveen la ambientación perfecta para la mágica transformación del verano al invierno”, dijo la Productora Nicole Feld. “Si bien puede parecer obvio que FROZEN: UNA AVENTURA CONGELADA es ideal para el hielo, esta producción de Disney On Ice conmoverá al público a través de innovadores elementos del show y patinaje de clase mundial”.

I became intrigued with Meto several years ago under some very strange circumstances. I asked some of Metos Tennessee kin for the story, and they have graciously allowed me to post it here. While most people in this area have a Cherokee in the cupboard somewhere, Meto is Shawnee. I assume he must have been a strikingly handsome young man for the girl to insist on having him right away. Here is the story from his family:
Many years ago there were peddlers who came through the mountains carrying their wares usually on their back. One such peddler appeared in the Poplar Mountain area close to the area where Clinton and Wayne County connect. With him he had a Shawnee Indian lad of probably 14 or 15 years. They showed up at a local home. The man of the house had a daughter about the same age as the Indian boy. She told her father that she wanted the boy and the short side of the story is that he traded for the boy. It was illegal for a white woman to marry an Indian but she evidently loved the boy and to put it delicately they co-habited. When the boy showed up the only possession he had was a token which supposedly had the word Meto on it. ( Perhaps it said Metro). That is where the name Meto comes from.
From this co-habitation came a daughter. . She was of course a half breed so was not socially acceptable. She, Betsy, became the mistress of a man named James. He kept his regular family in what was referred to as the "Mansion House" up on the road. Back in the orchard, he had a little cabin where Betsy or Bessy lived with her children. Meto died at the Blevins home in Pisgah. He had driven a flock of turkeys to Jamestown, Tennessee to sell and on his way home he took sick and stopped at the Blevins home-place. During the night, he died and they were going to bury him in the Smith graveyard there on the Kentucky Tennessee line, but the Smith's protested that no Indian was going to be buried in their graveyard. So they took Meto down the road a couple of hundred yards and buried him there. For many years there was only an old fieldstone there to mark his grave. Engraved on the stone was the word Meto or Metto, I can't recall just which one
Many years later, (probably in the 50s or early 60s) .... the family stopped by the gravesite. When they arrived, everyone got out of the car and grandmother took the storyteller by the hand and we walked off down thru the woods. They came upon this grave, and the grandmother had brought a bouquet of flowers which she placed on the grave. The grandson asked her who this was and for a long time she didn't say anything. Finally she said, "Aw, that's some of mammy's people". Mammy was what she called her mother, Emma. In those days you didn't talk about having any Indian ancestors, at least Grandma didn't. Family members today from varied braches tell this story the same way and it has varied little if any over the years.

This was a "cartoon kit" for a 1950's CBS interactive TV program with a cartoon character named Winky Dink (*and his dog Woofer)
This mail-order kit provided the child crayons, a cloth wiper, and a vynil plastic sheet that you rubbed onto the TV screen using static!
During the show, the child would draw on their screen to follow along with the show.
The show aired for 4 years before parents complained about the kids being too close to their monitors(*uh huh)
Nontheless, an interesting piece of "saturday morning" cartoonhistory and interactive TV memorobilia.

El Control de Aislamiento Domiciliario, CAD, tiene como objetivo monitorear el cumplimiento de aislamientos efectivos y seguros no sólo en dispositivos exclusivos para esto, como las Residencias Sanitarias, sino que también en los domicilios particulares donde sabemos que un número importante de personas debe realizar su cuarentena obligatoria, ya sea por ser casos activos y sus contactos estrechos o por ser viajero que vuelve al país.
