Consumer confidence is on the rise owing to the various health benefits of receiving massage therapy. More and more doctors are progressively talking to patients about the advantages of massage, which will have a direct influence on the success of the profession. However, apart from the health benefits, massage therapy is becoming increasingly popular for relaxation and pleasure. With many people looking for a way to relax from the stresses of life, the demand for massage therapy will only continue to grow.

The North Charleston Police Department implemented Project S.T.A.N.D (Stop and Take A New Direction) aimed at not just arresting low level narcotics dealers with little or no prior criminal history but to go a step further and help those involved in the activity change their lives for the better. This is program aimed at reducing recidivism through working on all aspects of the criminals’ lives.

This project was the focus of a Dateline NBC special entitled “Intersection” which aired on March 14, 2013.

University of Kentucky President Eli Capilouto joined the president of the UK Student Development Council, Jonathon Nunley, Kentucky Historical Society Marker Program Coordinator Becky Riddle and others April 15 in dedicating the latest addition to the Live Blue Legacy historical marker program. The marker is made possible through donations from members of the Class of 2012.

This historical highway marker, the 19th in a series, pays tribute to UK student traditions dating back more than 100 years.

An early rivalry between freshman and sophomore classes on the UK campuses was the annual 'Flag Rush' competition where one class would defend their flag from being captured by a rush of competitors.

Replacing the flag rush in 1913 was the 'Tug of War' across Clifton Pond. Students were granted a half-holiday for the annual drenching, and crowds could reach more than 2,000 for the event.

The dedication ceremony and unveiling of the marker took place at a site located near the William T. Young Library on the UK campus. A reception followed.

Since 1994, the Live Blue Legacy Program has supported the placement of Kentucky Historical Society Highway Markers across the UK campus. The Live Blue Legacy Program is administered by the Student Development Council, whose members solicit gifts from members of the graduating class, in this case the Class of 2012. These funds are used to purchase, install and dedicate a marker in the name of that particular class.

The Ceramics Program, Office for the Arts at Harvard, in cooperation with the Harvard Graduate School of Design (GSD), is proud to present the student exhibit “Ceramic Material Formation - Harvard Graduate School of Design” at the Ceramics Program’s new state-of-the art facility at 224 Western Avenue, Allston, MA. The exhibit will be on view from February 5 – March 4, 2016 with a reception on Friday, February 19th from 5-7 PM. Gallery hours are M-F, 10am – 6pm and weekends, 10am – 5pm or by appointment.

Ceramic Material Formation showcases the results of semester-long group research projects undertaken by 29 Harvard Graduate School of Design students with the guidance of the Ceramics Program, Office for the Arts at Harvard and with support from the Spanish Ceramic Tile Manufacturer’s Association (ASCER). Using fabrication methods such as 3D printing and CNC milling as well as manual processes more traditional to the ceramics studio environment such as slip casting and turning, students explored novel applications for ceramics in architectural design.

Projects on display include experimental designs for ceramic shingles and bricks, water filtration systems, evaporative cooling systems and more.

Within our family collection of photos and memorabilias, this particular souvenir programme can be considered as one of the oldest surviving souvenir copies at hand. It is already 52 years old and still in good condition. It depicts how the simple tale of the discovery of the miraculous image came to be and how, subsequently, Pandacan was highlighted as a simple town with its own distinction and interactiveness. The Fall 2010 Student Hackathon brought in hundreds of students from 30 universities to NYU's Courant Institute for 24 hours of creative hacking on New York City startups' APIs.

Selected startups presented their technologies at the beginning of the event, and students formed groups to brainstorm and begin coding on their ideas. Many students worked into the night, foregoing sleep to fulfill their visions.

On Sunday afternoon students presented their projects to an audience including a judging panel, which selected the final winners.

hackNY hosts hackathons one each semester, as well as a Summer Fellows Program, which pairs quantitative and computational students with startups which can demonstrate a strong mentoring environment, a problem for a student to work on, a person to mentor them, and a place for them to work. Startups selected to host a student are expected to compensate student Fellows. Students enjoy free housing together and a pedagogical lecture series to introduce them to the ins and outs of joining and founding a startup.
