There was no school for students on Jan. 10, 2025. Instead, our staff was busy collaborating, planning, and attending professional development workshops. They had the chance to hear Darryl Hunter — adjunct college instructor, company trainer, high school basketball coach, and retired police officer — speak about the role of trauma in students' lives. It was a very informative session that provided teachers with new techniques for identifying and assisting students affected by trauma.
Dr. James Demas, Associate Professor of Biology and Physics at St. Olaf College, speaks to trainees in Neurobiology. The event was supported by funding from The Graduate School's Professional Development Grant.
