Finally took the time to try E6 treatment in my bathroom. Quite long and boring but there you are, we got it done !

Again, not the best perhaps: should probably have gradded the sky but thought I could get away with it, and it's slightly over I think. And obviously a wind issue in the foreground. But definitely the right choice of film for this one (over Velvia) - has added a nice bluish tint to the crops. The B&W version came out better in the end (only exposed two sheets on this scene - I feel poorer each time I shoot 5x4 so rarely shoot doubles of the same film stock on a given scene). I suppose I could crop off roughly the bottom half with this one for a panoramic, but I'll probably not bother.
Digitized with D800E and 60mm micro (though no idea why ISO 800, not that it's made much difference!), 4 frames stitched in CS6.

Huize Oosterhof
Een huis waar historie tastbaar is, en waar het gefluister van dienstbodes nog door de gangen lijkt te zweven. Huize Oosterhof in Deurningen – ooit zomerverblijf van industrieel Otto Stork.
Gelegen aan het schilderachtige Lonnekermeer en doordrenkt van de sfeer van omstreeks 1900, biedt het buitenhuis niet alleen ruimte, maar ook een inkijkje in een andere tijd. Hoe dat komt? Omdat er nog zoveel van de oude inrichting aanwezig is. Inclusief de belletjes om personeel mee op te roepen.
Bij de spoelkeuken is een apart toilet voor de dienstbodes. Een groot verschil met het bewonerstoilet.
Dat heeft een aparte ruimte met grote luxe wasbak van het merk The Crescent. Waarschijnlijk uit Engeland gehaald. Het slot: ‘bezet’ en ‘vry’, meldt het plaatje boven de klink.
De bedienden hadden een aparte trap, die halverwege de grote trap uitkomt. Zo hoefden de dienstbodes op weg naar boven niet door de ontvangsthal.
Achter de villa ligt het ‘meidenlaantje’, het pad tussen Huize Oosterhof en de vlakbij gelegen boerderij waar het personeel (‘meiden’) verbleef. Als de meiden vanuit de villa werden opgeroepen liepen ze er over dat pad naar toe.

Here is another shot with Fujichrome Provia 100f. Obviously it has more grains than Velvia once I set to higher resolution with my scanner. The purple sky is pretty a signature of this film stock. It 's very saturated and contrasty. To me, Velvia 50 looks noticeably better for landscape. But it looks more digital than Provia. Can I reproduce this in digital? Maybe. I think I have proved to myself that 135 format film wouldn't be able to produce the quality that I need for landscape. I should move on to medium format.

Today I received a gift like this E-6 film: PROVIA 100F, overdue for many years. How knows. As said the mistress of the film (by the way, a good professional fotograf): "the new Film... and very old. Kept me very many years all the rules in the refrigerator. Perhaps it cannot be used for its intended purpose".
However, I will try it on purpose. I love experimenting with expired film, where (even with all amendments) of any frame becomes a surprise and a gift. Moreover, with an expired F-6 has not yet been played. Considering that this film like color, and it in Moscow latitudes, in January-February, not so much (exceptions local point on new year celebrations), then send in the refrigerator before Shrovetide and spring.
