Does this photo look the same as the previous one?
Oh no! This jpeg uses the ProPhoto colorspace, and the previous image uses sRGB. Safari users may think this one is better, but to Firefox and IE users it is probably far worse.
Technically, Kodak ProPhoto is pretty cool. Adobe recommends using the ProPhoto colorspace because it is very large.
Unfortunately, I recently viewed my site in Firefox and discovered that ProPhoto images are completely washed out, drab. An entirely different chemical in the test tube! Looks like Firefox and Microsoft Internet Explorer do not understand the ProPhoto colorspace.
I think I need to replace all my photos with sRGB versions. Bleh.

Today (5/21) would have been my Dads birthday; he passed away in Sept 2004.
Last night, I went to get some ink in his memory, I went after 6pm, so that it would be his birthday in England while I was getting it done with the 8 hour time difference.
An artist friend of mine in the UK drew up the ‘old style’ TV for me a couple of months ago, and that’s what I used.
So…what’s the significance (as they like to say on the cheesy TV shows) I hear you say….
Well, the dates are pretty self explanatory….
The Quiet Man was one of my Dad’s favorite movies, starring John Wayne & Maureen O’Hara; he would watch it on TV every time it was shown…
It was also the title of a poem my Sister in Law wrote following my Dad’s passing, and she read it at the funeral service, it was very moving, and was my Dad to a ‘T’ as they say. It was a name a lot of my Dad’s friends referred to him as.
Woody Woodpecker was Dad’s favorite cartoon character, and when I visited him at the funeral home, I left him with my Woody badge that I had for many years, it’s in his pocket with him.
My good friend Scotty owns Marks of Art Tattoo here in San Jose, and I had him do the work for me.
Happy Birthday Dad, I got my Woody Woodpecker back now
