Che cos'è il progresso?
Lì non si può più passare, qui non si può più sostare. Quello non lo puoi più fotografare.
Secondo me il potere, anche se vestito (o travestito che mi pare più seria come definizione; nel senso di vestizione talvolta allegorica di una realtà) di democratica sembianza, è sempre oligarchia. Oligachia del quartierino, del comune, della provincia, della regione, dello stato, dell'unione di stati, del mondo.
E noi come tanti ciucci a tirare la carretta quotidiana.
Forse a Tokyo le nascondono meglio, ma sono rimasto turbato dall'infinità di telecamere che ci sono a Londra. Poi ti fanno firmare le leggine sulla privacy che 'consenti'.
Per fortuna che, come in natura, ci sono sempre variabili impreviste ed imprevedibili a rimescolare le carte.
Anche se è sempre più difficile.
L'oligarchia è sempre più attenta ed evoluta.
La nostra tracciabilità è totale. Pro e contro: la carta di credito non funziona per qualche ora se cambi continente perché vogliono sapere se è vero che ti sei spostato.
Sogno una vita in contanti.
Da sempre i Ladakhi vivono con la terra.
Nei secoli si sono adattati alla natura
e sono riusciti a sopravvivere ad un
ambiente tanto ostile in cui la neve e il
gelo concedono solo pochi mesi di tregua
durante l’anno. Il concetto di autosuf-
fi cienza, assieme a quelli di ecologia e
sostenibilità, stanno alla base di tutta
l’attività lavorativa dei Ladakhi: nessuno
spreco, nessuna “violenza” alla terra.
La semina e il raccolto sono momenti di
festa e collettività. Gli yak, maestosi
animali simili alle vacche ma con il pelo
lungo, popolano queste terre e affi ancano
l’uomo nell’attività agricola, oltre ad
essere fonte di latte, pelli e carne.
Nella visione dei Ladakhi ogni elemento
ha un ruolo e un signifi cato.
Fino a quando la vita di questa gente
rimarrà legata alla ciclicità della
natura? Fino a quando questo popolo
continuerà a rispettare la terra e a
considerarla la più preziosa fonte di
vita? Il processo di occidentalizzazione,
con i suoi pro e i suoi contro, è già in
atto, travolgente e inarrestabile.

abbiamo pace e felicità interiori.
Anche se non abbiamo tecnologie,
abbiamo modi più conformi al dharma*.”
