Sticker art (also known as sticker bombing, sticker slapping, slap tagging, and sticker tagging) is a form of street art in which an image or message is publicly displayed using stickers. These stickers may promote a political agenda, comment on a policy or issue, or comprise a subcategory of graffiti.
Sticker artists use a variety of label types, including inexpensively purchased and free stickers, such as the United States Postal Service's Label 228 or name tags.
Even if there were various unknown pioneers before, the first officially recognized example of sticker art in the USA is André the giant has a posse by Shepard Fairey, created in 1989. The first European (and non-American) sticker art project is I Sauri, started in 1993. Since 2000, many graffiti artists and street artists, like Katsu or Barry McGee incorporated stickers in their production, using them as an alternative to tagging and bombing, or as autonomous art projects.
Label 228s are often used with hand-drawn art, and are quite hard to remove, leaving a white, sticky residue.
Sticker artists can design and print thousands of stickers at low cost using a commercial printing service or at home with a computer printer and self-adhesive labels.
Sticker artists also print their designs onto adhesive vinyl, which has a strong, permanent adhesive, is waterproof, and generally fade resistant. A variant type of adhesive vinyl, called "destructible", is used by some artists. Destructible vinyl decals are primarily used as tamper indicators on equipment and shipping containers. The difficult–to–remove nature of this material is attractive to sticker artists, including B.N.E. and Obey Giant.
Artist Cristina Vanko refers to her "I am Coal" project as "smart vandalism." Vanko uses stickers to identify objects that are coal powered, spreading awareness of global climate change.
The artist Cindy Hinant created a series of projects from 2006 to 2009 that combined the tradition of sticker collecting and sticker bombing in works that reflected on feminine representations in popular culture.
Sticker artists often trade their work with each other in order to expand distribution. An artist's stickers may be distributed worldwide and end up adhered in places they themselves have never been to. These trades are sometimes arranged personally or through social networking sites.

What is 3D Printing Service?
3D printing technology is a collective term for a series of rapid prototyping technologies, the basic principle of which is laminated manufacturing. 3d printing service providers will use a computer-aided design model to produce a three-dimensional object. 3D printing service includes 3d design and printing services, 3d laser printing services, 3d model printing services, 3d plastic printing services, 3d prototyping service or 3d rapid prototyping services, etc. SLA printing service and SLS printing service are two common types of 3d model printing services.
3D Printing Processes
SLA（StereoLithography）
SLA means laser curing rapid prototyping technology, the process of molding is to dip the photosensitive resin liquid through the workbench, and then irradiate the liquid surface by ultraviolet light, and the irradiated part is immediately solidified and formed. After the layer is formed, the workbench is lowered. The height of the layer, the liquid surface is re-impregnated through the workbench, and the ultraviolet light is subjected to curing irradiation of the next layer, so that the layer is solidified and formed to obtain a three-dimensional solid prototype.
SLA Processes:
1. Created by 3D modeling software, the 3D model of the 12 animal heads is produced, and the stl format is derived.
2. Import the file into Magics software for slicing.
3. Import the processed 3D files into the ProtoFab SLA light-curing 3D printer for 3D printing and curing.
4. Post-treatment process of 12 animal head models by cleaning, polishing etc.
5. Painting the polished animal head model.
SLM (Selective Laser Melting)
SLM represents elective laser melting, a kind of additive manufacturing, metal powder rapid prototyping technology, which can directly form metal parts that are close to full density and good mechanical properties. SLM technology overcomes the complicated process of manufacturing metal parts by Selective Laser Sintering (SLS) technology.
The SLM technology is a technique in which metal powder is completely melted by the heat of a laser beam and solidified by cooling.

Finally a good printing service!
They use Lightjet printers and the quality is very good.
I know that most of digital-medium-format photographers use Epson inkjet printers, but I can't find a good one here...
In the picture you can see a comparison of the prints. I's done with the Sony A55 and the Schneider 150mm enlarger lens, giving a 70x105mm (2.7"x4")crop from the 80cmx60cm (31"x24") print.

The University Services Building at Tennessee Tech University, often known as the "smoke stack", is home to Printing Services and and the heating plant. Built in 1929, it was originally the heating plant and steam laboratory. It is located on the corner of North Dixie Avenue and East 9th Street in Cookeville, TN.
Three bracketed photos were taken and combined with Photomatix to create this HDR image. Additional adjustments were made in Photoshop CS5.

Design & Mold Preparation
1. The software we use to sculpt the body is a 3D software package called ZBrush.
2. ZBrush data is then imported into 3D Max for various tweaks and to make sure everything moves and fits together.
3. We used two different types of CAD packages for the frame - SolidWorks and Pro/ENGINEER.
4. The face is initially mirrored but then manually tweaked so that its not unnaturally symmetrical.
5. We use a software called Netfabb to prepare the data for printing.
6. Back then, I used a 3D printing service in Tokyo called Digimode - all I needed to do was to submit my STL data and a few days later they would send back the parts.
7. Digimode used the Envisiontec Ultra rapid prototyping machine to print the parts.
8. The bits that you see attached to the bottom of the bust are called Support Structures which need to be snapped off and sanded down.
9. This is the first time I see my creation as a whole ^o^ The next step is discussed in the following section "Soft Vinyl Mold Preparation."
10. Now that the body shell data is complete, we need to tweak the internal frame data based on findings from our 3D printouts.
11. We used a 3D printer that printed in nylon as it was the optimum material needed to see how joints rubbed against and fitted with each other.
12. We tweak the data based on the 3D printouts and repeat the process a zillion times until we feel the design is optimum.
13. The frame is going to be injection molded so we need to prepare the mold data. This process was way more complex than I imagined and involved knowledge of material flow, cooling levels, wrinkling, warpage, mold temperature, injection pressure etc etc - all that and more just to know where to put the pieces in the mold and where to attach the runner gates.
14. After a while, we managed to get our own 3D printer which we started to use for production (review here). Just like before, we prepare some STL data of the part to be printed and load it into the printer software called PreForm.
15. Preparation of the printer by pouring in the clear resin.
16. An ultraviolet laser beams up from inside the printer and hits the bottom of the tank to cure the resin.
17. This hand can take between 2 and 6 hours depending on the layer thickness setting.
18. The printed parts are then removed from the Build Platform.
19. To use this printout for our doll production, I cut off the Support Structures and then sand down the surface to prepare it for the next step which is Casting. My goal is to create a copper mold used for mass production of the soft vinyl shell.

From first proof print to final sign-off print U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Office of Communication (OC) Printing Services Director Cynthia McNeill performs her press checks and provides suggestions to Government Printing Office (GPO) press operators to develop a print that is accurate and sets the standard that all other prints will need to conform to and represent Agriculture Secretary Sonny Perdue's image, in Washington, D.C., on May 31, 2017. Four corrections and test prints were made to finalize and approve the color and quality. The run will produce 14,000 photographs to fulfill official requests from USDA facilities around the world. This is my contribution to the 2005 AIGA student calendar, produced by graphic design students at colleges around northern Utah. Due to the printer backing out of the project (they were donating printing services, then they weren't. Nice) the calendar was never produced. C'est domage.
We all chose one week. I chose this week because August 7th is my anniversary.
I'm sure this needs an explanation...
The layout is a scatter graph w/o the index lines. The indices go like this:
Bottom to Top: Work -> Play
Left to Right: Nostalgia -> Anticipation
The sizes of the boxes indicate the significance of the day. Monday, of course, is smallest, and August 7th (anniversary) is the biggest. Thursday is always a significant day because of anticipation for the weekend. Weekends are never as good as they seem on Thursday so those days are smaller.
The colors/images are significant as well. They indicate activities or locations that I think fit with a more or less perfect week. In order:
Aug. 7th: A relaxing day in wine country.
Aug. 8th: Sleeping through Monday is always best.
Aug. 9th: Some kind of sporting event.
Aug. 10th: Outdoor concert (daytime).
Aug. 11th; Flop in a hammock and read a really awesome book.
Aug. 12th: Hang out at a beach.
Aug. 13th: A few too many glasses of Guiness (double vision ensues).
The Adobe Garamond Semi-Bold "august" in the lower left corner was unfortunately forced on us by the person who was orchestrating the project. He and some close aquaintenances decided to do that without consulting the rest of us. Needless to say, lots of folks in a number of different colleges were PISSED, myself included.
'Kay, hopefully now it makes a bit more sense.
