This was my first attempt at a woodcut. It was a tarot card theme and my card was "The hermit" I chose gandhi as my subject of choice.
Back to the beginning. Been going through kind of a dry spell, then just decided to go back to what I wanted to be doing in the first place. Sycamore No. 3 in progress. It's a good day when your dog is covered with wood chips!
3D-printed printmaking plate designed and printed by UNK graphic design professor Mark Hartman and printmaking professor Victoria Goro-Rapoport.
After being run through a press a couple of times, it began to bow in the middle just a bit, but this hasn't been a problem just yet.
During printing, some of the smaller features broke off the base, so the next plate will be thicker and have a taller design.

YandR batch #1
Acrylics on paper ; gelli print. 23-25 June.
I can't stop making prints. I even took the plate and prints to my art class (on color), to work on and talk about it. I worked on a yellow and red batch (YandR) for days.
After a while all prints turned out alike - and not 'my own'. It took some time to find a new way to add layers to the prints.
I am quite happy about this one.
